Go ahead and believe the low reviews - they deserve it!!! My “personal advisor” - older French woman (Verjine I think) told me 18 times that I am making a “luxury French purchase from France.” WOW Thanks - instead of giving me information I needed about my purchase she yapped on about how I’m part of a luxury brand now. What I wanted was info I needed - not fake nonsense.
She casually tells me in passing I can “get my refund inside the galleries Lafayette if I want.” Since she checked my passport at time of purchase, I thought she had included all documents I needed for my refund in the envelope provided. You know what ACTUALLY happened? She left out that she hadn’t provided the documents for VAT tax refund at all. Thanks for telling me I’m in “the Van Cleef luxury brand” instead of how to get $400 of my hard earned money back. I don’t care AT ALL about belonging with your brand. What a horrible experience.
When I called asking for help, they could not possibly care less.
They just see money when you walk in the door - your satisfaction as a customer doesn’t matter one bit. I left after my purchase with inaccurate information about how to claim the tax refund and nobody cared afterwards because they already took the money and ran. This is after the employees were rude to begin with when we went to the store for the purchase.
If I could use expletives in this review, I would. I literally HATE them!!!! This experience was supposed to be the highlight of my trip but ended up being the only real and glaring flaw in an otherwise nice time in Paris.
Greedy and unpleasant establishment. No wonder nobody likes this place and most people came in and left as fast as they could....
Read moreI visited the Van Cleef & Arpels boutique at Galeries Lafayette to view a piece I was seriously considering purchasing. The boutique was full, so I waited politely, as expected. Two staff members approached me—neither caring nor courteous—only to ask, in a condescending manner, what I wanted, whether I had an appointment, or to inform me that it would take a long time before I could enter…
Yet despite several people exiting, I was never invited in. Others, however, selectively entered the boutique without even asking. It’s unsettling to witness such blatant disregard from a brand that claims to embody elegance and excellence. If this is the standard of client experience, then the jewelry is the only thing that sparkles. And even that, suddenly, loses its shine.
Thank you—your attitude helped me make my decision much faster...
Read moreFor me,Galeries Lafayette is a place associated with great shopping and significant discounts – that's exactly why we all love to visit when in Dubai. However, our recent experience left us completely disappointed. After selecting items on sale, we were asked to provide a customer card at the cashier. Unfortunately, we didn't have one. Without uttering a single word of English, the cashier gestured for us to pay, but the terminal showed the full price without the discount. When we attempted to inquire about this discrepancy in English, another staff member approached us and explained that the discounts are only available to Parisian residents and their friends. Dubai Galeries Lafayette cards are not accepted. This was an awful experience...
