We were very excited to book this property, due to the great reviews and the pictures. Unfortunately our experience wasnt great, and I'll share in detail the issue
I attach my WhatsApp conversations with the hotel here to show the communication.
The first day when we arrived, we dropped our stuff and went to find a place for lunch. When we returned at about 5pm, our room was very hot, and when we went for dinner, we ask the guy at the front desk to check the aircon as it wasnt working. I received a message back quickly saying its working perfectly, and that we were to blame as the blinds on the windows werent closed. I replied we had them closed, but opened them before we went for dinner as the room was very dark with them closed.
When we came back from dinner at around midnight, the room was at 29degrees, and we went back to the reception. This time another guy came up with us to the room, and agreed that the room was very hot, and offered two fans and that a technician would come the next day to solve the issue. ALthough this hotel wasnt cheap, we accepted the offer of the fans in order to sleep the first night.
The second day we went out again, and came back at around 17h29 (picture 2) where the room tempreture was 32 degrees! Again, I brought this to their attention, and was told again, the system was working. A solution of leaving our door open for cool air to flow in from corridor was suggested!!!
I told him this was not acceptable for a 5 star venue. I felt being lied to about the system clearly broken - and then got a sarcastic reply back that issues like this do happen and no technician came out due to a public holiday.
A portable AC also never arrived that were referenced.
We woke up on the last day with no water in toilet, shower and basin, and only got a reply back on this once we already had checked out.
Despite the property being beautiful, I unfortunately cannot recommend this property. We were lied to (as the tempreture was clearly showing how hot the room was, and then being told its working / we need to close shutters / open door for cool air from passage) and I wish we never stayed here.

Read moreI had the worst customer service experience at a so-called 5-star hotel. I booked a room a month ago, but I noticed the hotel never charged my bank account. Over the next two weeks, I followed up three times to confirm if my room was actually booked and when they would process the payment. I received no response.
Two weeks later, my bank flagged the hotel had an attempt to collect the payment around 4am my local time. But the bank had fraud prevention so the transaction didn’t succeed. I approved it immediately, as soon as I woke up. But the hotel contacted me to say the payment was declined. I explained it was just a fraud-prevention measure and asked them to retry the transaction, assuring them it would go through. Once again, I never heard back.
It’s now been another week, and despite following up four more times, the hotel still hasn’t responded. This level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable, especially from a 5-star...
Read moreAn experience in itself!
Staff - Silvano and family could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. A genuine pleasure to have met everyone. They clearly have a passion and so much knowledge that they so gladly share about the breathtaking, historic Villa!
Location/building - 5-mins from Como on foot. Tucked away behind private gates, the most incredible building; architecture and decor that will probably never again be made by man - perfect!
Rooms - spacious and in-keeping and in the Villa. Sauna and small gym.
Food - breakfast was a delicious, fresh continental with option of hot on request (eggs/bacon). Coffee made fresh and offered regularly. The setting was a grand affair, a large classic table in the most beautiful part of the whole Villa. The option of eating al fresco on the veranda is there also.
Sincerely, thank you to Silvano,...
