Scam Alert.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly owner… BUYER BEWARE: This man is making money off of appearances and deceit.
Behind the facade is not quality chocolate and is not what is advertised. My fiancé is an expert in chocolate and has worked for 10 years with a Chocolate Maker who does bean to bar chocolates in Paris. As we started asking questions about the chocolate making process, (where he sources the beans, what he does personally as a chocolatier) we found holes in his story and things weren’t adding up. We decided to try out the chocolate even though something seemed off.
The owner offered us a sample of hot chocolate with coffee making it seem like it was simply a gift for us to try out his product, and then charged us for it at the end without giving us an itemized receipt.
Not saying anything, hoping it was just an honest mistake, we bought bags of chocolate (as we do whenever we visit a new chocolatier in a new country)
The chocolate was old. The flavor was cheap, the quality was terrible.
The chocolate truffle (dark chocolate with rum) crumbled in my hand because it was so old.
We realized after that this place is a scam. He has a couple of great products (coffee with melted chocolate) which he offers as a gift to pull you in, then charges you for it and sells you cheap chocolate at a very high rate.
I do not recommend coming here. If you want a real chocolate maker, find somewhere credible. This man is making money off of appearances and deceit.
We went back and spoke to him about it and returned the chocolate he sold us. We didn’t...
Read moreOn a rainy, chilly Sunday afternoon, avoiding puddles along Via Pellegrino, I happened to look up from the street into this Chocolate boutique just as the barista caught my eye and welcomed me in with a friendly wave. The incredibly rich and earthy aroma of the hot chocolate enveloped my senses- Said, the man behind the counter, invited me to sample the 70% dark chocolate which he served in an espresso cup, and then one of the truffles with grappa... I couldn’t contain my excitement at the truffle. A young couple sitting in the back laughed as they were clearly enjoying a Sacher torte and my enthusiasm. Veronica, the chef, came out to see what the commotion was about, but of course, she understood! This place is a new little treasure... I’ve seen few like it in Rome. Said worked at a famous Chocolate factory here for 15 years before opening this place a month ago. I can’t wait...

I went to buy a box of chocolates as a gift. I was charged 13.50€ for a box with 7 small chocolates. When I asked, the man said it was 120 gr. of chocolate plus 1.50€ for the box. Not sure how these small 7 chocolates could weigh so much I went into the nearest supermarket and realized the man had weighted both the box and the chocolates (together 120gr.) the box was certainly at least half of it. So I was charged 5-6€ for a cardboard box. When I went to return the box and ask for the money back I was asked to delete the review I had written in order to be reimbursed. Besides I got yelled at by the very unprofessional scammy owner :)
Never. Ever going back...
