I feel sorry to say that I was disappointed by my last experience in this restaurant. I was really looking forward to go there with my colleagues but the experience was not so pleasant! Although we had booked, when we arrived the table for 14 was not ready and they wanted to put us on 2 different tables.... We were looking forward to tasting special dishes but the food was really average, which is really a pity considering that the location is nice. We had 3 Chinese in the group, who were particularly disappointed by the cuisine. Since we were a large group, instead of taking 14 different lunch menus we agreed on a “surprise menu” for 25euro/ person (excluding drinks) which I believe was overpriced considering not only the quantity but the kind of god that we got. We had on average 1 samosa each, maybe 3 dumplings per person. in addition we had 2 small plates of chicken, 2 of seafood and 3 (half empty) of spinach ( in total and not per person!!!) which were definitely not enough to feed 14 pax, to the extent that colleagues were afraid of taking too much food to allow everybody to taste it !!! In addition they gave us 2 bowls of fried rice (nothing special) and provided us with 2 big bowls of plain rice...not really what you expect to have when the manager had promised a mix of “house specialties”. People were still hungry so we asked for additional food and they mentioned that we could take additional food from the menu and that they would have charged us... after discussions they brought us 3 small bowls of fruit. When the bill came, we were surprised to see that they had charged food for 15 instead of 14 but also 15 euro ( 1 euro per person) for tea that was provided by a Chinese colleague. I understand that restaurant might want to charge for tea service but they should have informed us in advance as they knew that no one had looked at the menu, where apparently this information was written... I guess it was bad luck for us as the restaurant/ kitchen was not ready to receive such a big group nor serve interesting dishes. Therefore,I would suggest at lunch sticking to the lunch box that are offered for reasonable prices. We had the impression that people sitting next to us with this prepared“lunch box formula” had more...
Read moreQuite possibly the WORST single restaurant experience of my life. This place must have changed recently because there are many good reviews here, and based on my experience that would be impossible. We walked in to a nice ambiance and a friendly waitress. All was well so far. My wife ordered a bottle of wine and it came quickly and was served courteously. When we ordered the food we noticed the prices were a bit high but the place seemed very upscale so we were ready for a quality meal. I never mind paying a bit more for a great restaurant. NO NO. NO! Tiny portions, slow service and awful food. Spring rolls were very basic. Fried won ton dumplings were 99% won ton. 1% filling. They weren’t even dumplings at all but just fried won tons. Unreal! My wife ordered spicy chicken with rice and it was very bland. We asked for soy sauce and it never came. I ordered a special apple prawns entree. What I got was a 6 piece fried sushi style roll that had BARELY ANY TASTE AT ALL. But here’s the worst of it. I told the manager how disappointed we were and at the very least I wanted an adjustment to the bill ( we did eat the food as we had just arrived in town and were very hungry) and do you know what she told me? She said that sometimes you like a restaurant and sometimes you don’t....and it was my choice if I didn’t want to come back, but she would not reduce the price. I was shocked. Then she offered to reduce the €94.50 bill to €90....Seriously?!? I have had bad meals at restaurants before...sure...but other managers always make it right somehow. This manager clearly DOES NOT CARE about customer satisfaction. Well, my money is gone but if you’re reading this, you still have yours. NEVER EVER go to this restaurant. What a JOKE. Hopefully tomorrow someone will tell me how to say SCAM and RIP OFF in Italian. I asked the manager but she...
Read moreWe chose this restaurant for a group of six people, including guests from China, based on recommendations from the Michelin Guide and some positive reviews on Google Maps. The location was also convenient, being close to our hotel.
Now for my impressions. The interior of the restaurant leaves much to be desired—basic design with no particular charm or aesthetic details. But that’s not the most important issue.
The real problems start with hygiene. The restroom was in a filthy state, with a strong unpleasant odor, cobwebs in the corners, and soap that was hard to find. It was clear that proper cleaning is not a priority here. As for the kitchen hygiene, we couldn’t check, of course, as we were just guests.
Service was perhaps the most shocking part. It’s rare to encounter such open rudeness and dishonesty from staff. We asked for a larger table to comfortably accommodate our group, especially for our Chinese friends, but were denied, supposedly because the area was “reserved.” In reality, the restaurant was mostly empty, with only a few tables occupied by 2–3 people.
No one made any effort to ask what we wanted or explain the dishes. The service felt careless and rushed—like they just wanted to get tourists in, serve something basic, and send them off as quickly as possible. I would rate the service a 0 or maybe a 1 out of 10.
As for the food—our Chinese friend commented that the only Chinese element was the chopsticks. Everything else was a poor imitation. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Restaurants like this only tarnish the reputation of Chinese cuisine...
