高さ29m、横幅52m、奥行き47mもあり、御影堂と比べると一回り小さいですが、それでもかなりの大きさです。 御影堂と同様に拝観無料で、靴を脱いで上がることができます(御影堂と渡り廊下で繋がっています)。

御本尊の阿弥陀如来を安置する本堂(阿弥陀堂)が、親鸞聖人の御真影を安置する大師堂(御影堂)よりも小さいのが不思議ですね。

高さ29m、横幅52m、奥行き47mもあり、御影堂と比べると一回り小さいですが、それでもかなりの大きさです。 御影堂と同様に拝観無料で、靴を脱いで上がることができます(御影堂と渡り廊下で繋がっています)。 御本尊の阿弥陀如来を安置する本堂(阿弥陀堂)が、親鸞聖人の御真影を安置する大師堂(御影堂)よりも小さいのが不思議ですね。 1602年頃に建築されるも蛤御門の変(1895年)で焼失し、明治28年に再建されたことから世界文化遺産に登録はされていませんが、2019年に重要文化財に指定されています。

It was rebuilt in 1895 (Meiji 28) like the Miedo Hall, and is 52m wide at the front, 47m wide at the sides, and 29m tall. The inner sanctuary of the Amida Hall depicts the world of the Amitabha Sutra, and is decorated with gold from the ceiling to the pillars. Additionally, on either side of the principal image of Amida Nyorai, statues of the Seven High Priests, including Saint Honen, and Prince Shotoku are hung. The current temple complex was burned down in 1864 and was gradually rebuilt from the end of the Edo period to the Showa period. The Miedo Hall was built in 1895 and has inherited the same scale and style as the mid-17th century, making it a majestic traditional wooden building with the largest floor plan in Japan. The Amida Hall, which stands side by side with the Miedo Hall and forms a double hall format, has a dignified and solemn interior space. In front of both halls, there are gates facing Karasuma-dori, and the Miedo Hall Gate is one of the largest double gates in Japan.
