Have always had a high regard for Beams but was shocked to receive my first terrible service in Japan.
Was at the men’s section last Saturday and wanted to try a sports coat on to purchase.
A younger male staff informed me that I couldn’t purchase it as it’s only for Japanese customers. I was quite taken aback and asked why? Strange especially a ince the Nishiki area was a popular tourist spot.
He mentioned it needed buttonholes done up and would take a few days.
Thinking that I could get those done with my local Tailor if the fit was good, and true enough I didn’t even need to take up the length of the sleeves, just get the holes done, I asked to try a size 50 and really wanted to get something from Beams.
He gave me this look of disgust and didn’t even say anything as I thanked him for the service and rolled his eyes.
