Fish shop Menoji Umeda store — Restaurant in Osaka

I visited this restaurant on 21/6/24 around 11:40 pm after playing some late night volleyball and was hungry. There was not much open around my hotel that late, and I wanted some protein (fish). I saw the all you can eat price was reasonable but when I arrived, the host named Nakabayashi said last call would be in 20 minutes. I decided to sit down.

I did not realize that I could not order AYCE and have to order off the menu until I asked if I can do it after sitting down. I decided to stay and ordered three items: some sashimi and conger eel tempura.

What a surprise it was when Nakabayashi brought over a platter of crab legs. I was confused and said I did not order it but he said it was on the house (free).

It's a bit hard to comment, as you can see from the pics, the food seems to be nice and decent. However, the overall experience went below my expectations - and I wasn't expecting too much since it was 食べ放題. Obviously we came for the King Crab, yet they were way too SALTY to eat, and they were mostly dry. The other crabs were even worse to be fair. So we ended up finishing our meal earlier than the time limit and left with a thirsty throat due to the saltiness. We do appreciate the sweet young lady who could speak some words in Chinese, her kind smile and hospitality delighted the not-so-tasty night. And I do recall another staff could speak quite fluent English although we still struggled a bit during communication. The rest of the crew...
