Danmired — Restaurant in Osaka

Update: Owner reached out shortly after posting to apologize and steps to make improve future experience. Changing rating from 1 star to 3 star. Would try again under if situation changes. Maybe was just a misunderstanding. When we arrived, my japanese wife spoke japanese to the server. Our server asked if we wanted to speak japanese or english, and said he would prefer english because he said 'i don't speak good japanese', but didn't give us a choice. His english understanding and or comprehension and or listening wasn't very good and he didn't seem to understand our order, he didn't clarify or confirm what we ordered and brought us the wrong drink at first. We asked for spicy food, and when the food arrived, he said it is spice level '3'. We had to ask what that meant and what the ranking was, since we weren't given a choice on the spice. The food ranking would have been higher but it is hard to know since the order wasn't correct.

We advised him of the order we would like but he charged us for 'all you can drink' even though we only asked for one soju and one tea since my partner is pregnant and we said that to him too, ' i am pregnant, so just two drinks'.

When we looked at the bill, we we were charged for 2x 'all you can drink'. He then said 'I heard you ordered this', but didn't want to argue since it seemed like they didn't want to listen or understand. Instead of arguing, we paid and left.

Unfortunately would not dine there again based on this experience...

We stumbled across this place doing a google search and thank goodness we did. The whole evening has been memorable. The food in Japan is without question some of the best due to the passion and dedication put into it but then add a bbq and the friendliness staff you'll find in Japan and you've got an evening of fun and flavour you won't forget. It's also refreshing to see the locals let their hair down with the all you can drink option. The vibe here is electric and the Japanese people are lovely so we will without doubt come back here next time we're in Osaka. 10/10 . Danmired is located very close to the subway station.

My friend and I ended up going to Danmired and it was great! We ordered the premium course, and was very good and quite balanced. I loved the pajeon and the tteokboki. The meat tasted great, especially with the sauces.

The workers were so kind and spoke multiple languages, korean, Japanese and English! They grilled our food and we're super attentive. They ended up making a little duck for my friend. ❤️
