A complete first: I've been to Japan at least 15 times, and I never would have dreamed that the food here could be so bad. The scallops were mercilessly cooked to the point of rubber. The king crab was also grilled to death. The "lacquered eel" came out of the microwave, dull and gray (not a guess, but right in front of our eyes). A sea urchin with a fishy flavor. A grilled shrimp with flesh so mealy it crumbled off the fork—a case for the health department. At least the complaint was accepted without hesitation. "We don't charge for that." Which brings us closer to paying: 14,700 yen. The exact amount was calculated for us on a small slip of paper and immediately debited via credit card. Now we must have made a mistake, as we needed an invoice suitable for the tax office. They promised us this, but it took a while. After a while, a new slip of paper arrived, with the same items, which suddenly cost 22,700 yen instead of 14,700 – a whopping 50 percent more, and we were asked to pay the extra. We refused, and the owner became shrill. Together we agreed to go to the nearest police station, which, thanks to Google Maps, is quick to organize. The boss, however, once again had completely different ideas and wanted to go to "his" police station, which was apparently located on a small, dark side street. We insisted on the Google Maps station, and the boss became increasingly more assertive, but the closer we got to "our" police station, the slower his pace became – well, and then he turned away. Conclusion: no idea about cooking, rotten basic products, petty criminal behavior in the billing process. Let's put it this way: A star in the...
Read moreDo not recommend this stall at all. First of all , they take down orders solely by writing on a board, they missed taking down our number for one of the prawn and caused us to wait for more than an hour. When we alerted them that why the customers who came later than us are getting the prawn first , the lady who is taking care of the grill just keep telling us to wait. There is totally no commutation between the one who is taking order and the one who is cooking. Secondly, the prawn is really tough and tasteless. We ordered the XL size prawn and it is really hard like rubber. They either boil or steam in batch , and then put on the electrics grill to add on the char flavour. Thirdly, we ordered many other seafood like sea urchins, grilled scallop, raw oyster, grilled snow crab. All does not worth the price at all. Especially the crab .. very dry and tasteless. bad as the prawn :( (SuperDry should find them for advertisement) oyster is fine but I’m sure there’s similar level of oysters with more reasonable price somewhere else. We spend total about 130USD for a lesson. Do not go to tourist attractions for food.. it will turn out to be a...
Read moreHad a an unacceptable experience at this place. The men were pushy to sell in my opinion over-priced seafood (we had a uni and scallop), and one of the cooks (young man with blonde hair) refused to let us sit at the table that was supposedly reserved, and gave us a table that can seat 3 for our party of 5 ( including 3 young kids). The "reserved" table was later taken up by random walk ins with less people. I questioned the same cook (while waiting for our food) and was basically told he wanted to leave the bigger tables for people who are spending more money with them. This was evidently not true as we could see the other group that were given the bigger table only ordered one plate of food to share amongst 4 people. The attitude from the cook and other men were pushy and very rude (after you paid) throughout the whole experience, and the food was definitely not worth it. The only positive was an older gentleman (also an employee of the shop) who was quite friendly and had a bit of a chat with us. This is the worst experience we had in Japan and the only place we feel compelled to leave a negative review so that others can...
