I am traveling in Tokyo staying at Koko Hotel in Tsukiji. Looking on Google for a haircut place and BroTokyo Barbershop popped up with a good amount of reviews. So I decided to take my trip and took a 15mins walk from the hotel to the local Ginza Barbershop BroTokyo.
I had no reservation and was greeted at the door but asked if I can come back after lunch at 3pm. Which was one and half hour wait. Not a problem, went for some sightseeing. Arrived back at 2:50pm and there was one other person in front of me. At 3pm door opens and was asked to be seated by my Barber Ryo. He asked how I would like my cut and I quickly pulled up their instagram page and picked out some photos for my styling. Ryo did the best he could to communicate in English and I do not speak much Japanese, so during the cut was a quiet conversation. Just basically asked where I’m traveling from and how long my stay is. Ryo finished the job quick within about 20mins giving me a fade and scissors cut on top.
I was given a wash with shampoo but I skipped the shaving since didn’t have much of a beard. Ryo did blow drying and some styling with wax after. So only about 3 options, cut, wash, and shave facial hair. No massage or premium services. However on the positives they accept walk ins with or without booking. And after cut was over I was kept pretty clean and no hair on my shirt or shoulders. Good to go right into your next activity. Friendly to foreigners and locals. The payment is accepted at the front and I paid a total of $5000yen for Cut and Hair wash. I say it’s a fair price for Ginza and would recommend if you’re going for a simple quick cut. Thank You BroTokyo...
Read moreI visited this barber based on the positive Google reviews. When I arrived, I was told I’d have to wait about 10 minutes. After that, I went back in and was helped by a staff member. The interior is nicely done, and the whole vibe makes you feel like one of the “bros.” The staff is also very friendly.
I showed the barber three pictures of the haircut I wanted. He seemed to understand quickly, but the very first thing he did was grab the clippers and literally shave off the back of my head. Before that, I had even grabbed the hair around my crown to show him what he could shave. I actually have a photo of the end result and a screenshot of the reference images.
The haircut itself isn’t necessarily bad—but it’s also not really what I asked for. I understand there might be a language barrier, and I also know I don’t look like the model in the photos, but when I show three pictures and literally point out the part I want to keep, and then the clippers come out immediately without any sectioning of the hair, I just can’t give a high rating. Honestly, I had to laugh—it all happened so fast. And well, once the hair’s been shaved off, there’s...
Read moreI visited this place while I was in Tokyo. I decided to try this one before I went back home. The same day when I checked it out, I thought I needed to make a reservation and there were no walk-ins, but while I was waiting for the other store to open, I went into this place and asked if I could get a haircut that day. The first barber asked the other guy if they had a free slot, and he said yes and came back at the time they provided, which is good and saved me some time already. I came back but it was 5 mins. Late due to an unforeseen event, but they understood when I explained what happened and got my haircut done. Atsuya, who did my haircut, was able to give the result that I wanted. The way they cut your hair was top-notch. Also, they wash your hair, massage your head and, if you want, they can put gel and fix it for you. All in all, I definitely recommend...
