We stay at the hotel seraya kota Kinabalu and park our rented car in the public parking on a Saturday night. The next day morning when we want to leave the hotel realise that our car being block by one yellow line and we receive a compound fine stated that we parked at the place that use for other purposes. But the yellow line was not there when we parked our car. The officer just extremely unreasonable, I approached one of the officer there who I believe is them who issue the compound and pull the yellow line. The officer say they have no idea we parked this car since the night before, how does statement make sense? When they pull the yellow line for the event at gaya street, they can’t see our car ALREADY parked there? And they just pull the yellow line and issue compound that the car originally parked there in the legal normal parking lot assuming that we know the normal public parking lot is use for the next day event? The officer say they can’t reverse or cancel the compound , need us to go to the main branch of dbkk to talk to the officer there. And today is Sunday, DBKK is not operating. We called the hotline and is not helpful as well, all pushing us to the main branch of dbkk.
We have our planned itinerary and will not stay in city until the day we taking off back. So now we need to plan to travel back to the city and giving up our plan. How sucks and unreasonably this compound issued? Is even worst compare to robbing. I would give zero star if the google review allow....
Read moreAs a Sabahan and a regular exerciser in Bukit Padang, I am very disappointed after hearing this news. My concern is the construction of a botanical garden might cause environmental damage and pollution to the entire Taman Tun Fuad Stephens. So far as I know, there are a small group of monkeys, not sure their species, hiding somewhere between trail 5 and 6. I am not sure how DBKK can ensure the entire upgrading project will not disturb all the habitats in it?
Not long ago, I noticed certain part of the Bukit Padang had been fenced, that's make some of the old trails being carve up. Not to mention, the back side of the Peak had been shaved into half with signboard "Private property, no unauthorised entry".
I hope DBKK can provides more info about the botanical garden. Because the upgrading project will take almost 2 years, DBKK should limit the impact on disenfranchised Sabah people who have been working out in Taman Tun Fuad Stephens every day.
More questions, will it become a pay park after the construction? Will the name Tun Fuad Stephens being removed? Will this garden becomes a private property?
I guess many Sabah people are curious to know.

Read moreHi DBKK, I m a long time resident in Luyang, I usually bring my recyclables to recycle in the recycling hut/ shop near Dewan Masyarakat Damai, it is very convenient to bring my item there, and I know the item I brought will sure be recycled as the place is run as a small business. It is very disappointing that this recycling 'shop' has being asked to move as the location is to be used to build carpark for Tshung Tshing School. To encourage recycling, I feel even a carpark building is to be built for Tshung Tshing School, a small area should be reserved for this recycling centre to encourage public to recycle their unwanted / rubbish etc. Shall appreciate your careful thoughts, with consideration to safeguard the...
