Ok, I've been here a couple of times this week because I'm a fussy eater who almost exclusively craves chicken burgers when I travel.
The other night (my first visit) was a bit weird....the server seemed almost insistent on trying to upsell and change my order completely.
How many times can I say I wanted the chicken sandwich without bacon, while pointing at that, before it becomes totally ludicrous?!
He bizarrely tried to get me to order the beef burger with chicken instead...why?!
So frustrating.
Anyhow, the plate arrived and the first thing I noticed were distinct finger impressions in the dish of mayo or whatever for dipping the chips. So I didn't try that.
The next thing I discovered was my burger/sandwich contained a hidden waterfall of dressing and sauce! It was strangely impressive, like a magic trick. It continued to flow until the last few bites.
All up, my craving was satisfied and the flavours were definitely there.
I rock up again for lunch today and was immediately seated under the coldest, most powerful air con duct in KL.
Again, the guy who took my order seemed insistent on trying a few times before allowing me to simply order what I wanted to order (hard eye roll and big sigh).
I eventually has to ask someone to seat me in a different section because I was getting goosebumps. That's when the super handsome Nomen came to my rescue.
He's so different from the other staff there - he's got 5 star hotel crossed with romance novels vibes.
Anyhow, back to the food... Ughh, when someone brought my burger, they either didn't notice or care that the burger was already sitting in a white, watery pool of dressing. I'll leave it up to your imagination remthe texture of the bottom bun... But I was starving and exhausted, so I removed as much cold, sloppy soggyiness as possible.
This was an embarrassingly messy eating experience!
I really don't think it has to be this way. It seems so easy to fix, or avoid.
As much as I enjoyed the flavours and crispy chicken, I don't think...

Food 2.5/5: BONELESS BITES, original price RM26.90, promo price RM11.90. We chose Friday's Signature Glaze flavor, which was previously known as Jack Daniels sauce. Smell good, the chicken meatballs a tad to the sweet side. COASTAL SURF & TURF STEAK - NY STRIP (RM120.00) The 4 pieces of shrimps were fresh and cooked to perfection. The steak I asked for medium, it came as medium rare. I notice this is the trick for ordering steak in Msia, have to ask for medium if you are aiming for medium rare.😏 The steak 🥩 portion was nice, the sauce was sweet and salty. FRIDAYS™ SIGNATURE GLAZED CHICKEN (RM33.90) The portion size was good but the chicken doesn't taste like grilled chicken, more like steamed chicken breasts with their signature glaze as the sauce. Making it kinda dry, hard to eat, and flat in flavor.
The price/value: decent portion, but the flavor was a bit disappointing, hence still considered a bit on the high side.
The service 2.5/5: The staff keep hard sell to us to order the festive menu, even though we are not interested. His English has a strong accent, making it difficult to comprehend what he was trying to tell us. That said, the service was responsive and food serving was fast.
The atmosphere/environment 3.5/5: if you enjoy music from the 80s, this is the place for you. The music is a bit too loud for a...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit to TGI Friday’s Southkey Midvalley. From the moment I arrived, the service fell far below expectations — especially considering the premium prices charged.
Firstly, the staff at the front door were visibly preoccupied with their phones. There was no greeting, no smile, and certainly no basic courtesy or budi bahasa. It gave off a very unprofessional first impression. The overall vibe from the restaurant crew was cold and indifferent, which made the entire dining atmosphere feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
After placing my order, I requested to change seats and was met with a rude facial expression and an eye roll from one of the staff members. Her response was not only unprofessional but also outright disrespectful. As a paying customer, I expect at least a basic level of politeness — we are not eating for free.
Throughout the meal, it was evident that the crew lacked motivation and warmth. There was no effort to engage with customers or make the dining experience pleasant. It is disappointing to see such service standards in a restaurant that positions itself as a casual dining brand with premium pricing.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues with proper staff training and supervision. A smile and a little courtesy...
