Alkisah suatu masa yang dahulu, I attended a friend's birthday party - as usual, we drank a lot of wines and later on we adjourned to another friend's home for second round ie. more wines 😅

In due time, everyone was famished so the host suggested nasi lemak for dinner (or was it supper? 🤔). Good decision - I love nasi lemak! Wrong decision - there goes my diet!

We arrived at this roadside stall called Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang and quickly swarmed the counter to place order. The sight of wok containing boiling oil to fry the chicken made me fungrier.

◾Nasi Lemak came drenched in curry & gravy, with generous sambal on the side. The plate was completed by peanut, anchovies, sliced cucumber and last but not least, a piece of ayam goreng. The sambal, soul of this dish, leaned on the spicy side with a tinge of sweetness. ◾Ayam masak merah - extra protein for the hungry pack. ◾Side dishes - salted egg, sambal tempeh. Salted egg made perfect condiment for the sweetish nasi lemak. Tempeh on the other hand was sticky and sweet. ◾satay lembu & ayam did less to stand out from the nasi lemak. ◾maggi soup - didn't know who ordered this but something soupy with an egg inside was so delicious especially when someone was on higher state of mind.

My verdict: as with many Malay nasi lemak stalls out there, gravy and even curry are leaning towards sweet side but luckily not too cloying. A popular hangout spot for nasi lemak lover as witnessed by...

Food is decent plus it’s a very convenient place.Ive been frequenting this restaurant sporadically but I think I will never ever go there again after the way I was I’ll treated by the cashier (Who i think could be the owner.Elderly malay man with lot of white hair). He was extremely rude to me .As I was paying for my meal which I had with my mum, I asked the man if they served any goats soup since they serve soup. His immediate reaction was “Eh baca sendiri la , baca! Baca!” While pointing towards the menu. He raised his voice so much that everyone in the restaurant turned and looked at my mum and me.it was a very unpleasant experience and in no circumstances did we deserve such treatment from that man. Sometimes it’s not even about the food but it’s about how courteous one can be to...

The worst nasi lemak I have eaten. It has been more than 1 year since I went there and don’t plan to go there anymore . I can’t believe the rating here is 4.0. Don’t get me wrong . Nasi lemak is one of my favourite food and I have enjoyed most nasi lemak I have eaten in KL, PJ and elsewhere in M’sia . The Sambal is so spicy until I cannot enjoy my meal there .Still not enough after 2 glasses of ice water. I rather go to Tanglin or other nasi lemak place in KL. Don’t waste your time going to this place for nasi lemak . Not worth it. Summore that lady can be very unpleasant at times and seems very irritated when I...

My Personal go to Nasi Lemak in Kuala Lumpur. They have Goreng² , Nasi lemak with a variety of Side Dish such as quill eggs, rendang chicken, sambal chicken and many more. Drinks are delicious too! Park at own risk, it’s a warong not a fancy restaurant so expect a warong vibe! Nonetheless, Food is good hands down! Place gets crowded during dinner time till closing 11PM

Hidden gem in Seputeh area one of the best & my favorite nasi lemak of all the time. They serve the best and most tasty fried chicken ever, the texture & taste of the rice is good but the sambal can be very spicy and filled with chilli seeds. They been there for decades. Definitely worth the visit.
