I was there with my girlfriend and did a reservation. Upon arrival we were asked to sit outdoors as indoors require 'special request'. When I inquired, the manager said its closed to the public. Fine, during our meal there were these 3 ladies complaining if they could seat inside, but apparently they left. After our meal before, I checked the indoor and there were the 3 ladies dining! I was frustrated and demanded why they were given special privileges to which the waiter responded weirdly that 'i asked the 3 ladies that if they wantednto seat inside, they need to wait for 2 hours? to which they were alright with it." And I asked to why we were not offered the same treatment as I don't mind waiting for 2 hours. Then the waiter said,"oh we didn't ask cause we don't want to be rude to keep you waiting. Moreover we were understaff" To which I erupted and raised my voice demanding a much more logical sense. Understaffed or not is not my problem. We were the first to arrive and what do you mean you need 2 hours to prepare our food with 3 staff there? Totally unacceptable and then the manager interrupted and said,"I'll call the police.." I said enough is enough even the authorities wont have time to deal with such nonsense. Not only the staff were rude, both the waitress and manager, they did not admit to their mistakes nor apologize but gave lousy excuses and lie to us incessantly. Upon leaving, I could see they tried to calm other patrons that it was sort of our mistake, blaming us for the unnecessary uproar from afar based on their gestures. Such a crestfallen experience as we used to frequent this place. The environment and food was superb, but as for the service, it was the worst! Please treat your customers without bias and admit to your mistakes without throwing personal problems like understaff, 2 hours lame reasons. Sad to say we will never ever return back and will inform others we used to go there not to. Super disappointed as it ruined our Saturdate...
Read moreApart from the price (a bit on the high side), I will have my meals here every day if the pricing of the food is about 15% lower. However, to be fair, with such ambiance, that 15% is for that. I am stating that 15% is because we are hard-core food focus.
Do we recommend this place? Yes, we do. This place boasts of delivering 22 mediterranean countries (check the map) flavours on its menu.
Sea Cucumber Curry Laksa - We had the seafood cucumber curry laksa - first time had curry noodles with sea cucumber. One word...curry is balance, and the noodle is egg noodle. The ingredients are very fresh. The curry is well balanced, not too spiky or spicy...allowing one to enjoy its full flavour. The sea cucumber is the spiky version, though small, but it's the fact that the noodle has sea cucumber.
Opened faced sandwich - with hummus, half boiled eggs and fresh herbs salad. One word - great! I particularly like how the hummus blends in with the salsa like sauce.
Fish Fritter, Egg-aioli, cucumber, red onions and cabbage - served with full mediterranean flavoured rice and the garoupa fish is done to perfection. Moist inside and crunch on the outside. The vegetables are generous...
Read moreA nice charming place. Converted bungalow in Seputeh. Warm decor indoors while the outdoors are airy, bright & fun. Friendly & attentive service. Prices are high but expected. It was rather quiet on a Sunday night. Street side parking available. Nice background music.
We ordered their mushroom soup, Marrakesh lamb shank & truffle pesto chicken pasta to share. Decent portions. Soup was rich & warming. Went well with their garlic focaccia. The pasta was slightly above average. Creamy pesto with nicely charred chicken. The highlight has to be lamb shank. One of the best I've had. Bursting with flavors. Tender falls off the bone meat. It was huge but so good we polished it off. Definitely a must order. Drinks wise we tried their mojito mocktail & Baileys Martini. They were both well made. Complimentary water was a bonus.
We enjoyed our dinner. Will surely return to try...
