Read moreThe hostess was nice and helpful. I ordered the chicken biryani and a cold teh tarik. The generous portion of biryani was flavorful and very clove and cardamom-forward (I didn't taste any cinnamon), and the chicken was tender.
I mixed all the components together including the egg and gravy/sauce. The biryani had a little spicy heat, and the yogurt added the cooling and sour dimension. The meal was very satisfying.
When I was there, it had a great vibe. Friends catching up with small bites. In the background, horns and drums were played in the adjacent temple.
The downside was that when I got up to grab a napkin and a toothpick, a server took my plate and drink away even though I was not done. I had my phone on the table and belongings on the seat. There were plenty of empty tables around me. Moments later, I noticed he did the same thing to another table while the customers who got up to wash their hands. They also had bags in their seat. Maybe he was overcompensating for a recent review who wrote that they took a long time to clear the table. The middle ground is probably just to ask the customer if they are done before clearing the table.
