John Siew Salon — Local services in Kuala Lumpur

I wasn't planning on getting a haircut at this salon, but I'm so happy I did!

I was planning to go to another salon near this one on Monday, but my first impression of them was not really good...

So I ended up going to this salon instead and experienced an excellent service from the hairstylist.

She was so sweet and polite. She wasn't being intrusive like asking about my job, where I live, about my family, or what am I doing in KL. She has very kind eyes, too.

I also appreciate that she merely suggested a treatment, but didn't push it to me when I said I wasn't interested.

She continued being very nice even when I didn't want to do the scalp treatment she recommended.

She was really cautious and gentle when washing my hair and massaging my scalp. It has to be the most relaxing hair wash I've had. And I've been to bigger and fancier salons!

She was also very meticulous and focused when cutting my hair. So much so that I'm very happy with my haircut.

All in all, I spent RM75 for haircut + hair wash.

I found the salon initially about 6 months ago by coincidence, while looking for another one which was recommended, but I was told that it had moved to a different location. Therefore, I scouted the mall to find another one and checked reviews too.

Among the several salons I have approached I finally settled for John Siew Salon for the very simple reason that the stylist Beverly was the most welcoming person of the salons I have approached. She was helpful, friendly and I had the feeling she knew what she was talking about. I was ready to give it a try.

I have western fine blond hair and needed a colour retouch and fine blond hair being so different from the Asian strong dark hair, I am always scared as hell to randomly choose a hairdresser I do not know.

But my fear was unfounded and Beverly did a great job. She listened, took her time, did her work carefully and I was very happy with the result.

The last time I was there I paid MY 168 for a root colour (I believe they use Schwarzkopf and Shiseido products), wash and blow-dry.

Will definitely come back to Beverly and would also recommend to those with lighter...

Amazing experience!!! I checked this Salon’s reviews online and decided to go there to get some highlights, haircut and scalp treatment done. I had no idea what to do.. just wanted a slight change in my hair and the staff was so friendly and helpful, especially Corina. She was so calm & patient and explained me different options and definitely didn’t disappoint me with her skills and work. The attention to detail when cutting my hair was just another level. She was always making sure I was satisfied at every step in the process. It was my first time in a Salon in Kuala Lumpur and would definitely love to come back for more treatments. It’s a great option for any tourists who want to do any hairstyling or treatment in KL. I know there are so many salons in the central city displaying different prices and it gets very confusing. I do highly recommend you to try this salon and I know they won’t disappoint you. Also, the prices are fair for their service and you can always explain your budget and they can help you find the suitable option and give you good suggestions...
