Returned for a second stay at the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur. Our previous stay was about a year ago and in an Executive Suite. This time, we booked a One Bedroom Premier Suite King for 12 nights through the GHA Discovery website with the Live It Up With Suites member rate. We knew we needed a washer/dryer. We knew the suite would be spacious and comfortable. And we knew the location would be perfect for our activities.||PREMIER EXPERIENCE|- Check-in. Our initial room assignment was on the 11th floor. Realizing this was the lowest room floor and remembering that we had a room on the 19th floor the prior stay, we requested a room change and got a great end unit on the 19th floor. Thanks to Putri for arranging the much better room location.|- Room Area & Configuration. The Premier Suite is listed on the hotel website at 624 square feet which is the same listed area for the Executive Suite. The main configuration difference is that the Executive Suite has a bathtub whereas the Premier Suite does not. Instead, the Premier Suite had a larger entry area.|- Pacific Lounge. The breakfast service in the Pacific Lounge has seen a significant improvement since a year ago. This includes the addition of a soup noodles and made-to-order eggs counter, and a section serving nasi lemak, fried noodles, roti bakar, made-to-order waffles and soft boiled eggs. Outside of breakfast hours, various snacks, juices and hot beverages are available. Overall, this made the Pacific Lounge are more welcoming space.|||THE CHECKLIST|- Since we were able to get a room on the 19th floor again, we had a great view from our room. I especially appreciated having the wide view from the work desk.|- Bathroom amenities. We noticed that the toothbrush amenity kit has improved since last year now offering a softer bristle toothbrush. The shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and body lotion is now Jo Loves brand with a pleasant Mango Thai Lime fragrance.|- Complimentary WiFi was slower than last year with SpeedTest results of 25.6 Mbps Download and 21.0 Mbps Upload. Could be because the room was at the end of the hall farther away from the nearest access point.|- The bed & bedding were supremely comfortable - just like last year. We slept great. Not sure what the “pillow menu” listed on the website means.|- The hair dryer has been upgraded to a Tuft T8i Model 8001A which has ionic technology. Very pleased with this.|- Our housekeeping staff, Eleues, did a great job servicing our room, especially keeping our bathroom and kitchenette in good shape.|- Staff at reception and during breakfast in the Pacific Lounge were a delight to interact with, especially Farah. Ummi assisted promptly with a request for ice (odd that ice has to be ordered to the room though since there is a freezer in the kitchenette). We also are extremely grateful for Putri’s assistance at check-out when we discovered that we could not get Grab for transportation to the airport due to road closures related to a marathon in front of the hotel. She used the hotel’s Grab account to call for transport which was available nearby.|- We discovered that laundry detergent pods were available upon request from the front desk. The washer/dryer worked well. We would do a 60 minute wash cycle and follow with a 1 to 2 hour drying only cycle.|- Very clear Samsung smart televisions. Chromecast and mirroring worked well.|- Enjoyed taking a dip in the swimming pool. Great views.||ODDBALLS|- There are two temperature control panels - one in the living area and one in the sleeping area. For most of our stay, the temperature was kept at about 22°C - except the second weekend where the temperature jumped to 25°C. The buttons and icons on the control panel are not easy to understand.|- For the first few days of the stay, hot water in the shower took around 8 minutes to arrive. Later on, it took around 4 minutes. This may depend on whether there were guests staying in adjacent rooms. Wish this could be improved to less than a minute.|- There were little flies in the Pacific Lounge especially on the spout of the orange juice dispenser. Hopefully, this can be remedied.|- Nearby is a hotel called the “Ran Pacific Serviced Suites & Apartments.” Don’t get it confused with the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites.||OVERALL|- Great stay. Particularly enjoyed getting to know staff.|- Great location near transit stations, shopping, eateries and more. The walk to The Exchange TRX has also gotten better with street improvements.|- Appreciate the comfort and conveniences of...
Read more【A Horrifying Experience at Pan Pacific: Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Unworthy of Five Stars】 Staying at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing and painful experiences I’ve ever had at a so-called five-star hotel. From severe safety negligence to chaotic internal management and poor customer service, this hotel fails to meet the standards expected of a luxury establishment.
【Fire Alert in the Elevator 】 On the day I checked in, I was staying on the 23rd floor. After a brief rest, I decided to head to the pool on the 25th floor. While riding the elevator, the control panel suddenly displayed a fire alert, and the elevator doors refused to open. The air conditioning inside stopped working, making the cabin unbearably stuffy, and there was no response when I pressed the emergency button. The entire situation was terrifying, as I could not tell if the fire alert was real or if I was in immediate danger of being trapped.
Fortunately, the elevator eventually descended to the ground floor, but the incident left me shaken. When I reported the situation to the front desk, I was met with complete indifference. The staff claimed there were no fire alerts triggered and seemed entirely unaware of the elevator malfunction. What’s worse, they showed no interest in investigating or addressing the issue, brushing me off as if nothing had happened. This lack of concern and crisis management is shocking for a five-star hotel and raises serious doubts about how the hotel would respond in an actual emergency. The potential consequences of such negligence are unimaginable.
【 Chaotic Booking System and Unreasonable Charges 】 On top of the elevator incident, I also faced another deeply frustrating issue with the hotel’s booking system. During my stay, the front desk claimed I had made two bookings and demanded I pay a No Show fee for the first night of the alleged second booking. However, I had only made one reservation through Agoda, which was confirmed by a single booking confirmation email. Despite explaining this to the front desk, they insisted their system showed two reservations under my name and told me to contact their Reservation Team for clarification.
I emailed the Reservation Team, only to receive the same response: they continued to insist there were two bookings and said I would be charged for the No Show. The entire ordeal was exhausting and completely unnecessary. Frustrated, I reached out to Agoda’s customer service, who assured me that I had only made one reservation and that there was no reason for me to be charged extra. Agoda’s confirmation highlighted the hotel’s disorganized system and its unwillingness to resolve its own mistake.
As someone traveling for work, I already have a packed and stressful schedule. I expect my hotel stay to provide rest and comfort, but instead, this experience drained my energy and added to my frustration.
【 Final Thoughts 】 Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur has demonstrated severe shortcomings in safety protocols, internal management, and customer service. The elevator fire alert incident revealed the hotel’s blatant disregard for guest safety, while the chaotic booking system and unreasonable charges further emphasized its lack of professionalism. What should have been a restful stay turned into an emotionally exhausting ordeal.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Its failure to prioritize guest safety and its lack of accountability make it an unreliable and regrettable choice. If you value your safety, peace of mind, and quality of service, I strongly urge you to consider...

DINE + DRINK: The Pacific Lounge on the rooftop/25th floor serves breakfast(and access to Coffee during the daytime). Is a swanky place to dine. While the breakfast spread is pretty good (with regional delicacies), they could do something to address Vegetarian travelers as the menu was almost 100% non-vegetarian.

The St Gregory Spa is an award-winning establishment that is great to pamper yourself if you are in the mood for it.
