Our trip to Nepal was absolutely amazing and I have to say that Anil Thapa had a lot to do with it. Anil not only was our tour guide but in a week became our friend. His attitude and attention to detail was what made him a perfect guide. From the time we landed in Kathmandu he was there to assist us at every stage of our trip. The hotels he suggested and booked were excellent. He assessed what our priorities were very quickly and tailored our schedule to fit our priorities and budget. He has a lot of knowledge but is not in your face and he makes the extra effort to do things that are beyond expectation. We saw the Nagarkot sunrise and sunset, sightseeing in Pokhara, Phewa lake boat ride, trek up to the Australian camp and Dhumpus, Paragliding in Sarangkot, the mountain flight from Kathmandu, saw all the heritage sites in Kathmandu. We had the best food every day because Anil would take us to places he knew were good without being expensive. If you are thinking of going to Nepal it would be a mistake to not consider Anil and Nepal for treks and your tour operator. My son will go back in November for a 7-8 day trekking trip which Anil...
Read moreJust landed back in Pokhara after 9 incredible days up in the Annapurna hills. My husbands goal was MBC and ABC, whilst I required a more bespoke trek plan. With good advanced planning this came together perfectly. We trekked together with guide Dilaram and Porter/guide Dipak as far as Chomrong. I had 2 rest days built in from here on, allowing me to take in the mountain village people’s lifestyle that bit more, as well as 2 days being guided and supported by Dipak to move between Chomrong, Ghandruk and Jhinudanda. There were many unexpected conversations and simple exchanges during the rest days:helping “Ama” shelling beans at the lodge, chats over masala tea with a local, Ghandruk cultural museum visit, talking to young Nepali tourists…Dipak keeping an overseeing eye on me throughout. We rendezvous’d with husband and Dilaram within 10 minutes of one another with immaculate timing to enjoy the hot springs in the sunshine altogether. I achieved beyond my expectations with the support of Dilaram and Dipak. It really has been the icing on the cake on a personal “journey” of physical recovery. Thanks to Nepal for...
Read moreI have just returned from my trek to Annapurna Base Camp (via Poon Hill) using the excellent services provided by Nepal for Treks. I was accompanied at all times by my very experienced guide Dilaram, who shared his extensive knowledge of the region both in terms of the surrounding scenery and of the people and culture I was introduced to. My wife accompanied me at the start and end of my trek. Nepal for Treks adapted her route to suit her specific needs and allow her to indulge in the cultural aspects of the local people, whilst still enjoying the magnificent scenery. She was accompanied by her porter/guide Dipak who supported her throughout. Both Dilaram and Dipak were so attentive and organised everything on our behalf allowing us to concentrate on our holiday experience. The memories that we now take home with us can only have been made possible thanks to their incredible input and the support of...
