I was on vacation in Pokhara with some friends visiting from abroad. We were looking for a nice, aesthetic café to hang out at, and came across this place on Google with great reviews—so we decided to give it a try.
We ordered a few drinks and pastries and were just relaxing, enjoying the vibe and the food. Unfortunately, one of my friends (who’s not Nepali) accidentally knocked his drink off the table, and the glass straw broke when it hit the ground. It was an honest mistake, but we all felt pretty embarrassed, especially since it drew some attention from nearby tables. We immediately tried to clean the spill ourselves, but there weren’t enough napkins on the table.
One of the staff members noticed and came over. We apologized and asked if we could get a few more napkins or even a towel to help clean the mess. She left, and we waited—careful not to step on the spilled drink or broken glass. After around five minutes, the same server came back empty-handed and instead told us we had to pay 200 NRS for the broken straw.
We were shocked—not because we had to pay, we totally understand accidents come with consequences—but because we were still standing there waiting to clean up the mess. It felt like their priority was charging us for the straw instead of helping us manage the situation or making us feel comfortable. Of course, we were going to pay—but can we clean up first? We weren’t about to run off.
My friends, who I was hoping to impress with Pokhara’s cool cafés, were pretty disappointed with the service.
Honestly, the place has a lot of potential—the ambiance is great, and the food and drinks were really good—but this experience left a sour taste. With better service and a little more empathy, this place could be amazing. As it stands, I wouldn’t recommend it based on how the situation...
Read moreI went here on December 31st 2024 with my friends as we were on vacation. We wanted to check this place out but due to time constraints we weren't able to do so. This place is ahead of the Belgian burger and club 16( about 5 min from the mentioned places). When I went there , the place was packed, everyone was enjoying their own food. One of our orders was delayed , which was a hindrance otherwise the whole experience was good. We decided to order lemongrass tea with money , an English muffin, a cheesecake classic , breakfast set Camille style, waffles with fruits and a healthy smoothy bowl 🥣 with alot of dragon fruit goodness. The cheesecake (8.5/10) was outstanding ( smooth , good aroma and melts in mouth perfectly) cause the chitwan cheese cake is very bad. The classic breakfast set was a delight and everything felt fresh. The lemongrass tea with honey which I tried for my sore throat was soothing. Absolutely worth it. The English muffins were kinda funny cause my colleagues ordered them without seeing the photos . Anyway he said it had a good taste. The waffled 🧇was neither too crunchy nor too soft which makes the taste perfect with cream and strawberry. The bowl was filled with strawberries and we enjoyed talking bout how we are going to celebrate new year Eve. Anyway the place is aesthetic, warm cozy and dogs are fluffy . The smoothie bowl with fruits and dragon fruit bombardment was nice but it was too cold for the cold season. Anyway overall a great experience and enjoyed our couple of hours stay in cafe Camillae stay. Here are some photos tho I didn't take many photos of the place as it's already all over the maps. Might be useful for people who don't know where to take pictures here haha. Until...
Read moreIf I’m being honest, this place was a breath of fresh air. What stands out most was the attentive service; our server was around when we needed to ask for something. Additionally, they offer a really cozy space with a couple of friendly dogs roaming about. There is plenty of seating for couples and groups. Our order of two Blossom Specials came out in a reasonable amount of time. The portions were just right and the price felt fair for the location. In terms of food, the menu is small but the dishes have some thoughtfully curated arrays of seasonal fruits and veggies presented delightfully. I only wish the portion of jam was more generous. I’d like to come back and try the desserts next time!
Update: I visited this place a total of three times during my two-week stay in Lakeside, Pokhara, each experience as good as the last.
I enjoyed the Blossom Special so much, I ordered it a second time. On another occasion, I indulged in the French Toast, again another thoughtful presentation with fresh fruits nestled around the Toast with a pistachio sprinkle and just a hint of sweetness. A really divine food experience.
I got a chance to try the desserts and the cheesecake was every bit as good as the reviews rave. The carrot cake, on the other hand, I felt left room for improvement. I didn’t detect any carrot and the texture was quite dense. The portions for both desserts I felt were fair for the price.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a crisp and euphoric...
