• Accessibility Review * I spent a few days at Coris Auckland and made the most of it by using the spa facilities. I let the staff know that I had low vision and they were very helpful in assisting. They showed me around the spa and told me where to put my things. There is a lift that goes up to the spa, although hidden around a corner on the ground floor of the spa. It did not have voiceover of the which level you were on. However it come in handy for my boyfriend with limited mobility. The reception, changing rooms, showers were moderately accessible, I’m unsure of the accessibility of the sauna, steam room and toilet. However from observation the Snail showers and Ice experienced were not accessible. Numbering on the pin pad of the lockers were small. The pool only has a ladder at both the shallow and deep end. The spa pool/jacuzzi has wide steps and a rail that is not really functional. Despite the lack of accessibility thought and function put into the physical facilities. The staff shone with helpfulness, acceptance and friendliness. When I had a spa treatment they graciously filled out a form for me. The treatment bed was hight adjustable, low lighting in the treatment rooms were nice but made it a little tricky, I nearly knocked over my refreshments after my testament. The facilities were lovely in terms of atmosphere and sophistication. The saltwater pools were not too harmful on my skin and hair. The spa treatment was great, even being consulted about which pressure I’d like for my massage. My therapist was knowledgeable and her philosophy was to not only give the treatment but also share her knowledge about skin care and muscles with me, I enjoyed my time spent at the spa and would like to return.

I went for treatment with my mum and sisters for pre wedding wind down. We chose the Eternity package and additional express pedicure. The treatment was 3.5 hours in total. The massage was exquisite although I was waiting for my scalp massage which did not happen for my youngest sister and me but my mum and other sister got it. The experience was ok up till then. We moved to manicure and pedicure . This is when chaos happened as they are not set up for manicure/pedicure for 4 people. There was a lot of tension amongst the staff and I could feel the personality clashes with each other - conversation was strained . Mistakes started happening. My mum had to get gel manicure x3 - the whole process of stripping the gel and starting again - this caused me a lot of stress. 3 TIMES! Her skin got cut .( mum told me this later). Nothing was directed at us but the room became quite tensed and stressful. This was not the way we wanted our experience to be and we did not want to leave like this. I complained at the reception and was asked how we could be compensated . Unfortunately, it’s not about compensation . We got offered a glass of bubbles .While sipping on the bubbles - our youngest sister could not join us as she was getting her manicure redone as the first lot had strands caught up. Had a stunning facial here, so thorough and felt really rejuvenated afterwards. I didn't enjoy the spa facilities as much as I had hoped as it's quite small. I came quite early thinking I would be able to use the pool but was told it was out of service. No problem, but would have liked to have been communicated with about that on the day as there isn't really much else to do. The changing rooms were so busy and there was constantly cleaners there which is good to keep things tidy but I felt like I was constantly bumping into people. Steam room was emptying tank for the entire time I was there before my facial. Sauna was nice. The relaxation area was chilly and not as private as I expected, I could hear staff talking and making tea for other guests after their treatment. I wasn't shown an area where there were any refreshments like juices etc which I would expect at this price point. I was shown a water dispenser in the changing room. I did get refreshments after my facial which were very nice though. The facial was so good, I really loved it so it's a pity about the facilities. As I was leaving I saw people in the pool so it must have been fixed by then. I was very disappointed that I wasn't told this before I showered and dressed as I would have loved a dip.
