Their catalogue is thoughtfully curated and highlights female-written work and hidden classic gems - they have some NYRB and New Directions books that both publish forgotten modern classics. If I'm looking for a specific book from Stendhal to Calvino to hooks, I'd go to their website to see if they have it and they almost usually would. If they don't, they will help you order online and notify you once it has arrived. They also stock highly anticipated new releases like Emily Wilson's translation of The Illiad or the Sofia Coppola Archive.

They also hosted book swaps where you can bring in books you would like to let go of while also picking up ones that people have shared.

The atmosphere is also great as it's well-decorated. I hope more people appreciate and check out such an underrated place. Truly, one of the best bookshops...

The service: The most dedicated and sweet team. Always have the best service and help, every single time without fail. They are very willing to go above and beyond to help. I am always after books that are a bit niche, and they never fail to help me find them. If Bonnie is helping you, you’ll be in great hands.

The customer service and products: I also love the bookmarks and packaging they give when you purchase a books with them. Such care and attention to detail in the product they deliver.

The store: The store is also nice and peaceful. It’s also close to some lovely cafes and a very beautiful part of town, worth stopping by even if you don’t have a good to purchase.

I regularly order books online from this store . I nearly always get the book delivered to me in Taranaki the next day . Unlike others the book always arrives wrapped in tissue paper and a shredded type of cardboard packaging and then in a box . I also receive a nice card which stays with the book as a bookmark ! . I also like the Email they send when they send the book , you can tell they love books and especially the one you've just ordered ( almost sorry to see it go ! ) I can't recommend Lamplight Books enough , and a visit is on the cards for my next trip to...
