Mr & Mrs Bistro — Restaurant in Waitematā

Well, went for a bottomless brunch with some friends today and it was less than average comparing to other places that do bottomless brunch. Very overpriced for what they serve and also the service! First of all, they gave us 90 min seating, during this time in a normal bottomless brunch they should give alcohol for us as much as we can drink, reason that people called BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH, but this didn’t happen.

They had only one front of house working today who wasn’t very happy or even polite to us, he was ignoring us when we asked for drinks, was rude a few times (terrible for the restaurant reputation ) especially because it was our f we had only 90 min. I think it’s a strategy of the restaurant to make us drink less (which is not the idea of a BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH), at the end the drinks were tasteless and with a lot of juice ( we think that they stopped to put alcohol in the drinks) we know that we can’t be intoxicated, and he wasn’t because the amount of drinks we had was a joke!! for the money that we payed, we were expecting more, also no enough water for the table. Food at least was good! A few glasses were dirty with lipstick on it!

If you’re reading this review thinking to book a bottomless brunch with them! Pls don’t do it!!

We have so may other places in Akl better for bottomless brunch! For example EAT DRINK LAUGH CAFE in ponsonby, they had 2h sitting and they serve you alcohol all the time non-stop, always topping the glasses up, the food is amazing and the drinks as well, the girls there are also amazing, always smiling and doing their best to provide a good service! (I work in hospitality so I know how the staff have to be) Lula Inn in the harbour, have a good bottomless brunch as well, the food is ok but the drinks there are tasty and non-stop service. Always asking us if we want more and top up the glasses.

So my final word from mine and my friends experience is disappointment. We’ll never come back!

If you guys don’t know how to do a proper bottomless brunch, pls stop! Maybe just stick with breakfast, lunch and dinner only. Don’t serve something that you guys don’t want to provide with quality. Don’t make customers experience to be like this

Would like to share my experience at Mr and Mrs bistro- where me and my group of friends went for bottomless brunch last weekend! OMG! This place is the best one yet… you can switch between cocktails and the staff is amazing- you don’t have to ask- they top you up with cocktails as soon as you’re finished. Our group was so happy, with the different options we had- we tried almost all the cocktails- different flavours. And definitely try bellini and berry breeze… we couldn’t get enough. They even explain all the cocktails- and if you prefer a brunchy drink (with prosecco) or more sweeter and fruity taste 🤌. The food was even better- unlike other places they give you so many different options on cocktails… for our sober drivers- they suggested non-bottomless brunch menu- they were so considerate- other places are trying to just score money off you..

But we requested non-alcoholic options for two in our group-they got different mocktails each time- which was explained to them.

Overall, I’ve had many bottomless experiences and this place is in my top 3! No.1 in Auckland for sure. Great service, great staff, great culture vibes. I’ll be back and you should really consider booking when you’re next planning a bottomless brunch; it’s close to the city so you can carry on the party with ease.

Second time going to this great place. The experience is worth and it is a very good place to enjoy a nice meal while having a good cocktail.

The dinner menu is well balanced, with a good quantity of entrance that can provide with a different flavour. Unfortunately, the volume is for average for the portions and you can sense it when ordering those amazing prawns.

The main dishes can be divided in three types:

The first would be a category of great flavour experience, which are the dishes located in the top of the menu. The chicken is amazing.

The second is focus on burgers with fries. Every single one is very satisfying, but I this time we tried the chicken one and it didn't disappoint at all (Picture attached)

The third and last category would be premium food, which start with a marvelous combination of risoto with the fish of the day (picture attached). Also, here is where they offer the opportunity to tried their steaks which aren't included in any app discount like "first table".

The dessert are very good and well develop. Totally focus sweet bakery dessert and they are very well done.

At last, the cocktail are very creative and tasty. Worth to trie each every time you go there.
