Exceptional Dive Masters and an Outstanding Dive Center!
Our family had the most incredible experience during our discovery dive sessions, all thanks to the impeccable care, expertise, and kindness of Darwin, Jen, and Haron. Although we are already PADI certified, we wanted to accompany our kids on their first dive and ensure we had the utmost care and attention as a family. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this team, along with the dive center, operates at the highest standard of professionalism and passion for the underwater world.
Darwin, Jen, and Haron were simply phenomenal. Their patience and kindness immediately put everyone at ease, especially our kids, who were understandably a little nervous at first. They took the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring that we all felt confident and excited rather than overwhelmed. Their ability to adapt their teaching style to suit both adults and children was truly impressive, and their warm, approachable demeanor created an atmosphere of trust and enjoyment throughout.
One of the standout qualities of this team was their unwavering commitment to safety. They refused to compromise, ensuring that every piece of equipment was thoroughly checked and that all procedures were meticulously followed. Their watchful eyes and gentle guidance underwater allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience, knowing we were in the best possible hands. This dedication to safety never felt restrictive but instead gave us the freedom to enjoy the magical underwater world with complete peace of mind.
The dive center itself deserves a special mention too. The facilities were top-notch, and the entire staff exuded the same level of professionalism and friendliness as Darwin, Jen, and Haron. The organization was seamless, and everything from the equipment to the briefing sessions was managed with care and precision.
Thanks to Darwin, Jen, and Haron, our family created unforgettable memories during these dives. It’s not every day you come across dive masters who are so passionate about their work, so devoted to their clients, and so skilled at what they do. If you’re looking for a team that truly goes above and beyond to make your diving experience safe, enjoyable, and magical, you’ll find it here.
A heartfelt thank you to Darwin, Jen, Haron, and the fantastic dive center team – we’ll absolutely be back for more adventures with you! P. S- we ate 4x here food outstanding and Juliet is lovely. I wrote in TripAdvisor as well not sure why it is...
Read moreI booked this place through Dive Guide Philippines to get my Open Water certification. I traveled with two friends from Europe.
On our late evening arrival we were warmly greeted by the receptionist and our dive instructor Max was already waiting to introduce himself and give us a short briefing on the outline of our first course day.
We were very surprised to find exceptionally well maintained and modern rooms. I was staying in the room called Triggerfish on the top floor. Highlights were the silent AC, the balcony with an almost ocean view, the sleek and clean bathroom and the good water pressure of the shower.
The resort has two areas where you can order food and drinks, or eat breakfast: The reception/dive shop area on the ground floor and the rooftop balcony with a bar. During dry weather we enjoyed it a lot to eat our breakfast on the rooftop while watching the ocean. The breakfast itself was exceptional, with enough choices between different Filipino Silogs and continental breakfasts. Else, the beer is quite cheap compared to the rest of the island. On the ground floor, there is always a roster of funny dive characters, who are happy to talk to you or help with restaurant recommendations.
Located at the more quiet end of station 3, we were surprised to notice the beach area south of Divegurus to be the most clean and peaceful during our stay. Almost no trash, crystal clear waters, barely any hawkers, no annoying photo ops. Also during nighttime, it was possible to get good sleep before 11PM, since the resort is not in between many bustling clubs.
The highlight of our stay was of course the incredible dive course with Max. Always professional and never skimping on safety, he patiently made sure that everyone understood the lessons 100% and rigorously practiced with us during the confined water dives. In the end, all of us passed the exams and dives without any problems. After the course, I also did a very well organised fun dive. I only needed to relax and enjoy the diving experience without any hassle. Properly fitting gear and a dive computer was provided on every dive I went on.
Overall, I especially recommend this place for people who want to go or learn diving and who only occasionally want to take part in the classic Boracay party crowds. Else, you might find places closer to the action, but of course, they won’t be...
Read moreThis review is hard to write, but I was touched inappropriately by the diving instructor during a session, and I don’t want anyone else to go through what I did.
I wasn’t completely alone on this trip — I had a male friend with me, but he didn’t join the dive session.
So when I joined this beginner diving course, I was essentially a solo female diver, not from the Philippines, not a swimmer, and with no prior diving or snorkeling experience.
The instructor assigned to me was Reyjie Arboleda (Instructor #101109). Because I was the only total beginner, he said he would “focus on me.” At first, I was thankful — until I realized how vulnerable I was.
While underwater, the session went smoothly. But everything changed the moment we surfaced. I was extremely dizzy, seasick, disoriented, and I couldn’t find my regulator. I panicked and tried to signal for help.
That’s when the instructor repeatedly touched and caressed my chest, even though I was fully wearing my diving suit. I tried to move away, thinking maybe it was accidental — but then he grabbed my lower body, and when I pushed his hands away, he smiled and said, “This is nice.”
I was floating helplessly in the open water. There were strong waves, and we were waiting for the boat. It was just the two of us — I had no way to escape, and I was terrified.
Once the boat arrived and other people were around, he immediately switched back to “professional mode” — offered me water, asked if I felt okay, and even told me to unzip my diving suit “so I could breathe better.”
I want to be clear — the other staff at the dive center were warm, helpful, and very kind. But I was too afraid to raise what had happened in front of them. I was just one girl, alone in a foreign country, surrounded by people from their team. I didn’t know who I could trust, or whether speaking up would make things worse for me. So I stayed quiet — until now.
I don’t have video proof, but I know what I experienced. I’m not here to cancel anyone. I’m here to warn other women — especially solo travelers, beginners, or non-swimmers.
Be extremely careful when choosing dive centers, even if the reviews look good. Sometimes, the danger happens when you’re the only one left vulnerable.
