Worst experience.
Long story short, our order was missing, we received all our meals 70 minutes after ordering, no one apologised to us, and we wasted our last sunset in Boracay because of their lies.
Ordered a drink and a meal - Male waiter A took the order. Drinks were served, meal did not arrive 35 minutes passed I asked why my meal didn't arrive and they said they would check and get back to me. 5 minutes later, waiter B comes by and asks if you ordered your meal. (order appears to be missing) Every 5 minutes for the next 5 minutes, a total of 3 staff members repeated the phrase ‘Oh, it's just taking a while, it'll be out soon’. First of 2 meals served 60 minutes after ordering. Second meal served 70 minutes after ordering.
The table was empty, the restaurant was less than 20% full, and it was clear from the circumstances that our order was missing. Most importantly, no one said ‘sorry’. ‘It usually takes 50 minutes,’ “It usually takes longer,” and so on. ‘I'm sorry, your order is missing, I'll get it to you as soon as possible’ - not one of the four employees said this. ‘ahaha finally here is’ was the phrase I heard while receiving my first meal.
We were passing by and were hungry so we decided to grab a quick bite to eat and enjoy the sunset, but by the time we finished eating, the sun had already gone under the sea and that was our last sunset in Boracay.

I recently visited Maruja Cafe and I have to say, it's definitely a hidden gem worth checking out! 😍 I ordered a flat white coffee ☕️ and a slice of biscoff cheesecake 🍰 and both were absolutely amazing. The coffee was perfectly brewed, with a great balance of flavors that wasn't too bitter or too bland. And the cheesecake was so rich and indulgent, with just the right amount of sweetness. Plus, the presentation was lovely 🤩 - my cheesecake came on a plate that looked like a shellfish 🐚 and my coffee cup was thick and had the look of a porcelain mug. I was so impressed that my coffee stayed warm for over an hour! ⏰
The atmosphere of Maruja Cafe is truly special too. The acoustic music 🎶 playing in the background and the charming decor made me feel like I was on a whimsical Disney island 🏝️. The shell-shaped chandeliers 💡 and jellyfish-inspired lighting fixtures 🎇 were really unique and added a touch of magic to the entire space.
In addition to their coffee and desserts, Maruja Cafe offers a range of wholesome food options including a vegan version of their signature coffee 🌿.
If you're someone who loves great food, good coffee, and an unforgettable atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Maruja Cafe. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience that you won't...
Read moreCafe Maruja is situated beachfront of Station 3 in Boracay. This is one of the cafes that caught my attention while strolling along the beach because of the pretty-tropical-artsy decor and nice color lighting especially at night. I went there early afternoon for my late lunch. I tried the Aloha Bananacai smoothie which tastes sweet and refreshing especially during an afternoon heat. It is served in a moscow mule cup and a paper straw. After few sips, the straw got broken. Although it looks nice but it needs to be replaced so I asked for a metal one. For the food, I tried the Grilled Wagyu Cubes with rice (pretty HUUUUGEE serving for one.. I didn't finish it - better for sharing). I didn't expect the wagyu cubes to be so tender that’s so easy to chew and it’s delicious with the tomatoes and eggplant. Also, lettuce salad and fries are on the side. Other than the food and drink, I really admire the service of the staff in the cafe especially Ms. Mysan and Sir Leon. They’re very polite and accomodating. Overall, I left the cafe full and...
