I had an appointment at Parkway Shenton clinic at the Jurong branch this morning at 10:15 am for health checkup. Despite arriving punctually, I waited until 11:20 am for a staff to take my measurements and until 11:50 am to see the doctor, and then encountered a distressing experience.
The doctor, a young male who was the only one available at the clinic, attempted twice on my hand to draw blood. Unfortunately, despite the attempts, it was unsuccessful, resulting in unbearable pain. It was evident that the doctor was struggling, as he kept pushing the needle in, causing further discomfort and distress. This level of incompetence is unacceptable. I have undergone many times of blood tests before, and this was by far the worst experience.
Moreover, the clinic clearly lacked sufficient manpower, as evidenced by the prolonged waiting times and the fact that several patients, including myself, waited for two hours. If the clinic knew they didn't have enough staff, why did they continue to accept appointments? Everyone's time is precious, and this disregard for patients' time is unacceptable.
The doctor's suggestion to return another day for the blood test is wholly irresponsible and fails to address their own incompetency. This experience wasted two hours of my time and left me with nothing to...
Read moreI did my health checkup with a PRUDENTIAL voucher on 5th July. The process started with filling out a series of questions by myself. During the face-to-face consultation, the doctor did not ask any questions — the lady doctor only collected my blood sample, and after that, I was told I could leave and wait for the results. I’m not sure if she even reviewed the questionnaires I had completed.
The results were released quite quickly, which was a positive point. However, the overall experience at the clinic was not great compared to my previous checkup at Axxxxedic, where the doctor spent more time asking questions, giving advice, and explaining what I should do or eat. In addition, Parkway did not provide any food after the checkup, whereas Axxxxedic offered a simple breakfast (pao, siew mai, etc.), which made the experience feel more complete. Lastly, Parkway does not offer a phone review of the results, while Axxxxedic does provide this option so you don’t need to make a separate trip.
It could be that the prices differ, so the service level also differs. But if you are going for a health checkup using a PRUDENTIAL voucher, I personally would not...
