Parking Review – Urgent Improvements Needed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a frequent visitor to CanalWalk Shopping Center, I feel compelled to share my experience regarding the parking situation, particularly over the past two to three months. Despite CanalWalk being a highly reputable shopping destination in Century City, the current state of the parking stations, ticketing system, and boom gates is extremely disappointing.
Every time I visit, I encounter multiple issues at the parking pay stations. These include:
Card readers failing to recognize both parking and credit cards. Machines refusing payment or failing to return tickets. Machines frequently being out of order, resulting in long queues that extend back into the shopping center.
The expectation for a high-profile location like CanalWalk is smooth, efficient service. With multiple stations available, traffic flow should be seamless, yet the repeated failures create congestion and unnecessary delays.
On top of this, the exit gates often malfunction, even after paying at a station. I have spent up to half an hour waiting to exit because the card reader fails to process my ticket. This is unacceptable, especially for visitors who are on tight schedules, have meetings to attend, or are traveling with children who understandably become impatient.
It is frustrating and disheartening that a shopping center of this stature has not invested adequately in its parking infrastructure. The poor functioning of these machines is not just inconvenient—it reflects a lack of consideration for the visitors who contribute significantly to the center’s revenue. Long delays at payment stations and exit gates risk driving customers away, undermining CanalWalk’s reputation.
CanalWalk was once one of the best shopping centers in Cape Town, but the ongoing parking issues are tarnishing that legacy. I strongly urge management to prioritize urgent improvements to the parking system, ensuring machines are functional, payment is smooth, and traffic flows freely in and out of the center.
This is not merely an inconvenience—it is a reflection of how much CanalWalk values its visitors. Addressing these issues promptly would restore the center’s reputation and improve the experience for...

Dear Pedie Beauty & Canal Walk Management
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at your Canal Walk Mall location. On Friday, October 11th, I booked an appointment for hybrid lashes, but unfortunately, the service was subpar, and the overall experience was unacceptable.
Firstly, the location was misleading. Despite being told that you are next to Burnt Studios, I discovered that you are actually situated inside Partners Hair Salon, in a small storeroom with two recliners and an open door. This setup raises serious concerns regarding occupational health and safety standards.
Furthermore, the technician failed to understand my requirements. Despite specifying that I wanted my lashes to be slightly longer than my original lashes (which are short), I was given 12mm lashes, making me look ridiculous. The technician's justification was that she always gives customers 12mm if she thinks they are unsure, which was not the case here.
I was so upset and rattled that I paid the R900+ bill without even realizing I had left my bag behind. When I returned for it, the technician showed no remorse.
To rectify the situation, I had to spend additional money at Sorbet to have the lashes removed.
I hope you take my complaint seriously and take necessary actions to address these issues, including retraining your technicians and reconsidering your...
