The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is due to certain staff members (the racing itself was super fun!).
Unfortunately, the gentleman who gave us instructions last Sunday (31 August) spoke unclear, and it seemed like it was a lot of effort when he had to assist us with our pedals (we had some short members) or answer our questions.
Under normal circumstances, I would have asked a staff member if they wouldn't mind videoing a few laps for my family, but the vibe given off from two of the men working there was so off and unwelcoming, that we didn't feel comfortable asking.
When it came to our race, we got ready at the start line. My sister couldn't reach the pedals properly because they shifted forward again. While she was being helped, I was telling her to fold her pillow in half rather. Next thing, the green light went on while we were trying to sort out her seat. A bit more consideration and awareness by the staff would have gone a long way in this case.
Following that, 4 of our family members decided to go for a second round. The same marshal who gave us instructions then joined the track without warning, spun out on a corner, and VERY nearly caused a collision with my dad. This was not the first time I saw marshals randomly joining groups racing?? Yes, I know they're 'professionals', but it's extremely off-putting when suddenly a random, additional driver is on your track, and worse, spinning out in the middle of it, and disturbing your race.
It is also rather off-putting when marshals run across the tracks when you are quite close to them. Surely this should also not really be allowed?
Other than that, the lady at the front was lovely and friendly! We will still be doing this experience again despite the lack of enthusiasm and keenness from some staff members. You're supposed to feel excited when doing an experience like this, but it sucks when some staff members don't contribute...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wouldnāt recommend anybody to go here, you pay R450 for 15min and then they disqualify you after 8min in with no valid reason. Iāve been to many go kart places around the world and this one is definitely the baddest one. You wait 45min to race and then they just ruin your race. They explain all the flags to you at the start but I think they donāt even know how a warning flag looks just shoots straight to the black flag.
If you want to enjoy a nice go kart race with your friends donāt go here. They will probably disqualify you aswell.
They left a nice comment below after this review, Obviously just defending themselves and not really caring about the customers. If you donāt want people to fall out of the cars then you should maybe think of getting safety belts in the cars! Iāve always had safety belts in any go kart I drive in. And if you donāt need the safety belt cause thatās probably what they will say now after this review then donāt disqualify people of they fall out the cars while driving. You canāt expect every race to be clean but just give people a chance for the money they are paying. And I did go through all the comments. All of them dedicates towards poor services. Never look at your positive reviews always at the negative ones cause those are the people thatās not coming back to you. Think abit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCareless behaviour by staff on track!
We have been there yesterday with 4 13 year old boys. I myself had a small accident with one of the boys, something which happens various times in a 11 minutes slot. Only problem, one of the marshalls stands in a single tyre which was on the racing track in front of the normal tyre barrier and facing the opposite direction of where the karts did come from. He was hit by a kart and then the boy was thrown out, which was extreemly unfair as this boy did nothing wrong. What is the marshal doing on the track, facing even the opposite direction of where the carts are coming from, when there are no yellow flags??? And then just throwing the boy out???? This is not right to punish the boy because of marshals careless behaviour. I guess now the boy is traumatised and won't go karting ever again.
I hope the marshal is ok, but these guys run on the track without looking and then make it a problem of the customers.
Don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for the guy being hit, but the marshalls are a risk to the drivers and to themselfs.
I do not recommend this karting track, not because of the karts or the track, simply because of the negligence of the staff and the unapropriate way the incident...
