Chillies Bar — Local services in Adeje

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at Chillies!

Me, my wife and 10 year old son visited the bar the previous night. We only had 2 pints each as it was relatively late, there was a decent vocalist on and my son was looking forward to going back.

The next night is where our issue began.

We were shown to a table on arrival, my wife went to use the toilet. The old guy who had shown us to our seats stood over me and my son so I thought he was taking our order, he then asked if I was in last night and I hadn't paid the bill. I told him exactly how much the bill was and how much I had paid (including tip), he then told me again in a more aggressive manner that I hadn't paid. I told him in no uncertain terms that I always pay my bill and that I 100% paid the night before. Needless to say he was very unhappy with my response and probably tried to bully many customers, we stayed for a drink as they were already ordered and when they arrived they demanded payment straight away. At €4.50 a pint this bar is definitely not worth the hassle.

Real shame as there were good artists who tried really hard to keep customers...

REPLY to the bars extremely rude response: I was not on a budget or asking for the cheapest wine. I just wanted a glass of wine by the glass and the only wine they did by the glass was house wine. I said to the waitress that it tasted flat and watered ( she apparently doesn’t realise that wine can be flat lol) I then asked for a gin and tonic and I didn’t care about price difference as long as it was actually gin!

I think there is some misunderstanding that I wanted a cheap night. It’s incredibly rude to assume I am on a budget or cannot afford a G&T for 7 euros but if you want to come up with that as a reply go ahead.

The people sat next to me actually said they had the same issue with their sangria so I’d avoid that too!

Also for the record, I don’t need to budget unlike you with your watered down drinks.

After reading all the reviews, I decided to also speak about my experience so that others also avoid. There’s plenty of other really good bars with live music in las americas and costa Adeje so save yourself the bother of going to Chillies and...

“Definitely Give This Bar A Miss.” Called in for a drink, my wife must have been taking a little bit to long to decide which Cocktail she wanted, we were approached a couple of times by an angry guy trying to hurry us up. We decided not to have a drink due to his rude obnoxious attitude. We decided to leave where upon we were followed along the street by said manager, he was abusive towards us shouting and swearing and making an unnecessary scene. We have previously had a drink in this bar which we found to be a flat bad pint of Coors and overpriced at €6 each. As the previous disgruntled customer said just pop next door to The Night Owl for a completely different experience and a better quality cheaper drink. We don’t know if this guy is the owner or the manager but he definitely needs an attitude adjustment, in my opinion he is in the wrong trade. This Bar would be so much better without this horrible angry...
