We had visited on a Saturday, staff seemed occupied with blank expressions as we reached them. They showed us a table, no introductions of themselves or high tea in general, apart from showing us the menu barcode to scan. We had to call and ask again which drinks were included. There were more staff in suit and ties came over and asked if we were okay repeatedly, I did not understand the point of it. They did not introduce themselves or what they do, or specifically followed up on any part of the high tea. There were few of them and I still don't know what their role was. Not an efficient way to get feedback or acknowledgement. There was a guy in a black uniform walking around with an electric mosquito swatter to kill flies. Added to the our so elegant experience. Savory selection was ordinary with toast bread sandwiches, sweet selection was presented as one serving of each dessert for two people, how were we meant to cut and share a little delice? All food items come together including scones at the top tier, and they were cold already as they were served. Again one serving of clotted cream, one serving of strawberry jam for two people is impolite and definitely not a sophisticated presentation. Might I also suggest a smart seating for families alike and couples or adults in a different area? Overall underwhelming high tea experience for the Versace name. I might suggest some learning points from my experiences in other hotel high tea experiences if they get in touch following...
Read moreCatching up doing our rounds on Afternoon Tea in Dubai. At arrival valet parking was quick. But on entering, we had 5 "statues" in suits at entrance lobby just staring and not one asking "Can I help you?" Maybe because we didn't arrive in a Ferrari. Good interior and ambience and seated quickly. Overall the food is great but service was poor. Staff never asked us once if we needed anything. We usually change plates after the sandwiches before going onto the cakes. Other establishments do this without asking! Same for having to ask to add hot water for the tea pot or a fresh pot. Compared to our visit at other hotels, this is poor. Staff mostly walking around looking busy but doing nothing. Noticed guests at the next table had to ask for service. If you look at the photos, the Afternoon Tea is a "set" for 2 people, with 2 of each type of sandwiches and snacks, but for the cakes, there are only one for each type, so you have to cut this in half to share. :-( Not good. We use Entertainer where applicable. Although it is available with 2 for 1 Afternoon Tea, it is not really applicable, as they apply 2 for 1 "sets". A naughty way to cop out. They never tell you at booking. Even with 25% discount, it is not value for money compared to the other 12+ places we have tried. Environment and ambience: 8/10 Service: 4/10 Food: 8/10 Go again: maybe. Recommend: For the food, yes. Overall: Could be more enjoyable if the...
Read moreAfter reading many positive reviews about the High Tea at Mosaico I was very excited to visit this place. I live near Dubai Media City so quite far to Palazzo Versace. Upon booking, the personel from reservation confirmed vegetarian snacks. Fortunately, I called them a day before the visit, because it turned out that they didn't have such information in the system. The restaurant looks luxurious, unfortunately at the same time the hotel was a having a Halloween party for kids and it was very loud. I did NOT remove a star for this. The reason I'm giving only 3* is a food. The bread was dry and the sandwiches were tasteless. The pieces of cake tasted like they had been brought from a supermarket. I was very disappointed with the food and would have given only 1* but I ordered separately golden cappuccino and this changed my overall experience. Absolutely amazing. Another plus was the life music that raised my experience to 3*.
Price for High Tea at Mosaico - approx 300AED for two Golden cappuccino - 75AED per person Juices...
