Read moreI recently stayed at IntercityHotel Al Jaddaf, and while there were some positives, unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing.
Positives: The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast was decent. Some of the staff, particularly a professional gentleman I believe is a supervisor, stood out for his exceptional service. I met him about six months ago, and his professionalism and attention to detail left a lasting impression. He made excellent drinks for us, and I felt comfortable addressing my concerns directly with him today.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the reception staff needs significant improvement. While they weren’t rude, their communication skills and proficiency in English were lacking, which led to a frustrating experience.
The main reason I wouldn’t return to this hotel with my family is the disappointing hospitality. The lifeguard, who is supposed to ensure a welcoming environment, was rude, unprofessional, and lacked basic respect. The main thing about a hotel is hospitality and this person should not work in this sector he is way beyond training.
We entered the pool area about 15 minutes early, And this lifeguard who is Pakistani I think arrived late anyways after 9:30 am. And instead of politely informing us, he lectured us about rules and regulations for too long. He even said since there are policies we need to respect it that's why there are policies. even though there were already people in the pool and others tanning nearby. The sign indicating the pool was closed was small, unclear, and was placed next to the adult swimming pool not the babies and kids swimming pool which the sign could have easily been left over from the previous night.
When I decided to leave after his unnecessary lecture, I politely informed him that he had ruined our family’s mood. Instead of apologizing, he waved his hand dismissively and told us to go. When I tried to de-escalate the situation, he continued to escalate it, mentioning the police and hotel policies. To top it off, he said what's your room number as if he's scaring me or something while showing up late for his duty, arriving at 9:40 am instead of the scheduled 9:30 am, which he seemed more focused on enforcing than following himself.
Overall, the lack of proper hospitality and the unprofessional behavior of the lifeguard overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. I won’t be returning to this hotel...
Read moreWorst Experience Ever||I stayed at this hotel for 10 days, and it’s hard to capture just how disappointing the experience was, but here are some key issues I encountered:||Frequent Power Outages:|The electricity cut off twice during my stay, each time for about 10 hours, leaving the entire hotel without air conditioning. ||Elevator Delays:|With only one working elevator, I experienced a frustrating 15-minute wait just to reach my room on one occasion.||Repetitive Breakfast:|The breakfast lacked any variety, with the exact same options served daily for all 10 days.||Early Pool Closure:|The outdoor pool closes at 9:30 PM, which is too early for guests wanting to unwind after a long day.||Misleading Restaurant Claims:|Despite the website advertising three restaurants, only one was open, and it served the same monotonous breakfast.||No Sound Insulation:|The rooms have little to no soundproofing; I could clearly hear my neighbors at all hours.||Unreliable Air Conditioning:|The AC turned off twice during the night at 3:30 AM, requiring me to wait for repairs each time. Even after switching rooms, the new room’s AC was equally unreliable. To add to this, while writing this review, the AC in the lobby was also malfunctioning.||Poor Ventilation:|The rooms lack windows for fresh air, and the ventilation system is inadequate, forcing you to breathe stale air.||Subpar Cleanliness:|Although the hotel isn’t old, it’s poorly maintained. The dining area, bathrooms, hallways, and pool area were all noticeably unclean.|-|Deceptive Restaurant Hours:|The restaurant, contrary to its claim of being open late, closes at 10:30 PM.
