Came in today with my mum, immediately being watched by security for what I assume is the reason of I'm a black girl with a large selfridges bag so I'm gonna steal from Superdrug. I then ask a worker if they had an item in stock she says yes but it's in the back, I ask her if she can get it as I want to buy it, she sighs and says she'll have to get someone else to get it as she can't leave shop floor. They bring it out I say thank you and then she hovers over me whilst I'm looking for something else as they had an offer on the maybelline. Still being watched by security I go to tills with my three items (one meant to be free as that's what's advertised) I then go to change the shade of one item and security walks past me giving me a dirty look up and down so I tell him to stop staring. The third item did not come off with the promotion and I ask why, they guy behind tills says because one of the items are new. However it doesn't say that on the promotions it's says spend £14 get a lip product for free. Already having a bad experience with the colleague prior not wanting to get me an item that's in stock and the security guard watching my every move I pay for my things and leave again with security watching to see if the alarms go off. If I wasn't adiment on getting the pink mascara for my bityhday then I would have walked out with nothing as the entire interaction from start to finish was awful and your staff and security need to be trained on good customer service because don't tell me it's in stock and then make it obvious you don't want to go get it...
Read moreThe majority of the time the women on the tills have such a rude attitude and poor customer service, plus its not unusual to be overcharged for things. There were 3 women on the till, customer at the middle till left so I walked over there to be served. Pretty normal. The woman who is meant to be serving me immediately leaves and helps the woman at the till next to her process some return, even had to call another staff member out to sort it, even when shes done shes still faffing about and the 10 minutes im standing there waiting not once did she acknowledge me. The woman on the till to my right could see the situation but STILL continued to call people down from the long queue behind me, so people who have been waiting a shorter period of time than me are getting served. Nice. Great customer service there. I got to the point where id had enough and as soon as she served the next customer I brought my basket over and said can you serve me please as I have been waiting ages...she has eyes and could obviously see that anyway. She served me pleasantly enough but then when it was time to hand me my bag, she just left it on the counter and just looked at me in my face, with the handles facing her and the whole bag was on her side past the plastic covid screen. Read moreVisited this store on numerous occasions, I’m familiar with their long lines and an urgent need for a better approach. However, I had visited their store in Harborne that lacked plastic bags and so my purchase got soaked so I had asked them to replace on item and the lady had to call on three different people to assist.
To be honest, fair enough the other store failed to provide rain suitable bags and it isn’t the stores problem. The real problem was the fact that this store needed to rely on so many individuals and couldn’t even provide the customer service email from the website - just said, go to the website - I found Riz to be super friendly and helpful. She seemed to get the point about a need for packaging suitable for British weather. Even the reverse side of the receipt suggests the store wants us to love the product - so something needs to be done. I found each of the three different supervisors or managers just so unfriendly and just weighted with attitude which made me as a customer more frustrated.
I want to really praise Riz and I hope she becomes the manager! She seems to understand customer service and expectations.
