Welcomed on a Saturday evening with a 7 year old, guys behind the bar were really friendly. We had food while here which was spot on, 4 empty plates! We didn't realise until we left that they kept the music down lower, as we walked out they turned up the volume. I'm guessing this was because we had our son with us, they didn't have to do that but it's the small touches which make the difference. First time here, had Sunday lunch. Brisket and Lamb absolutely stunning. Every vegetable perfectly cooked and delicious. Yorkshire pudding huge! Gravy amazing. Small plates very tasty, calamari great but halloumi the best I've ever eaten. Fresh bread, terrific skin on chips. See photos. Brilliant cassis bramble too! Lovely environment too, very clean and neat, great friendly staff but quite small as a pub, so get here early! Lived in Hull for years but this is one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had here. Great food, great service, reasonably priced, friendly staff and nice jovial atmosphere - something to venture into old town for along with The Mission now most of the old haunts are gone or filled with lairy tweens and alcos, filling up on cheap lager in the 3 overly cheap bars within throwing distance.

Geez, I sound like my Grandad :D but, seriously it's a nice little place in the midst of a typical Wetherspoon and two other £1.99...
