Jewellery By Design — Local services in Great Britain

My experience of Jewellery by Design has been nothing short of exceptional. The team is clearly so talented, that goes without saying, but it was their kind support, constant communication and patience in guiding me through the creation of a precious ring that really makes them stand out, and I will always be so grateful for the precious heirloom they have created for me.

I gave them a few pieces to repair (a pearl bracelet from my sister and a broken necklace with a heart pendant from my mum) which weren’t expensive pieces but held incredible sentimental value and the team treated them with such care, both were returned to me as good as new.

But the main piece I commissioned was a gold ring with 2 diamonds and a tourmaline gemstone. The diamonds were from an eternity ring my dad bought my mum which had 5 in total but after he passed away when I was little, she divided the diamonds up into different pieces of jewellery for me and my sisters.

Bringing 2 of the diamonds back together in a bespoke ring with a beautiful tourmaline at the centre was something I’d wanted to do for many years but I’d always been so nervous about it, because of the sentimentality and the backstory behind the diamonds. Steve, Sue, Ruth and Natalie were so understanding and made the vision I had dreamt of a reality. They provided a number of gems to choose from, suggested which setting would look best and answered any and all questions I had. The result is an absolutely breathtaking ring.

I’m writing all this because jewellery is such a personal thing, and commissioning something like this requires a lot of trust, but Steve and the team have not let me down. They knew exactly how to create a ring that exceeded my expectations, and I know my dad would absolutely love what I’ve done with those diamonds he bought my mum over 30 years ago.

When I was buying an engagement ring for my (now) fiancee the staff were all extremely helpful, showing me the things you can find on the market, from diamonds and metals to the different types of designs. I eventually chose to try to design a ring myself, and, full credit to Steven, he crafted a truly amazing gift from my rather feeble drawing. I had a Bracelet made for my wife with my sons name in Korean script on it he had a fascination for Korea. The staff and Steve were so very helpful with very good ideas. The Bracelet is a white Gold with the script cut through not engraved. The chains are 18 crt gold and when we picked it up slightly to long ( my fault measured wrong) Steve had it adjusted to the correct length in about 30 minutes. The workmanship is second to non .
