Boots — Local services in London

if i could possibly give minus points i would - i went into this store - and was browsing up and down the aisles - from the corner of my eye, I saw that i was being watched as i moved from aisle to aisle, which i did not mind as sure they want to keep an eye on people. Because i was on Holiday from the US i was receiving a number of text messages and emails from friends on my phone so was taking said phone out of pocket and returning it - which I believe was very clear - especially since i was being watched so closely. I finally put my phone back in my coat pocket and looked up to see the store assistant moving towards me aggressively - I looked up and asked if there was a problem? to which i was aggressively asked what did I [ut in my pocket - I pulled out my phone and showed the person - i will not call him a gentleman as he was rude and aggressive. I asked if he would like to search me and held out my arms at which he started to move towards me to do so.. I told him to stop, in I admit not such polite terms, and said that if this is how he treats locals and tourists coming into his shop i hope he goes out of business - i put my shopping basket down and went to Superdrug where i spent a significant amount of money.. BOOTS you need some appropriate training for your staff !!...

The security guard followed me (and only me, despite there being more customers around) obnoxiously throughout my browsing, making me feel uncomfortable, treated like a criminal.

In ironic contrast, the cashier was engrossed in a conversation with someone else and hardly recognized my existence while ringing my items in, to the point that I had to take the initiative and say goodbye some 20 seconds after the transaction was complete.

This is my second or third time at this Boots. I came in from work carrying my backpack and I literally caught the secruity observing me twice. I wondered what my crime was? Carrying a backpack and taking a bit longer to decide if i wanted to spend 12 pounds on brush I didnt particularly need? Please educate your staff. I have every right as well as everyone else to take my time to locate items and to decide what i wish...
