Great food and have ordered over 10 times regularly, spending £100s in custom.
However, recently they became super unhelpful and blacklisted our uber eats account to stop us ordering again. All because an uber eats driver failed to contact us and deliver our order and took the food.
We never received a refund and we spent over £50 on one order. We even ordered again the same night because we were super hungry, and liked their food! Fortunately, we received our food 2nd time.
It’s a shame because my Chinese friends were in town with us and we recommended this restaurant highly.
After i called the restaurant to help resolve the issue, after uber eats refused to offer us help - and sending us in circles. instead of sorting the issue, the restaurant management decided to block us instead.
Update: I try not to complain about restaurants, but seeing as £50+ of our money went missing and we didn't receive our food, I feel it's necessary to state facts and raise people's awareness.
The Restaurant has responded saying they did not profit from the order, (not paid by uber eats?) that never arrived. Then who has the money we paid for the food? Also, the restaurant staff promised to call us back with an answer after we contacted them to speak to uber on our behalf - they didn't respond to us.
Also they said they did not block us on the app: However, we are still able to order from other vendors on the app, so how else are we supposed to know who did in this situation, if they haven't? Maybe it's the case that Uber Eats has blocked us from ordering from you? Our friend ordered food successfully from this restaurant yesterday from...
Read moreThey serve regional Yunnan style home cooking. You will find dishes here that are not on the menu elsewhere. My companion who had been before loves the big bowls of rice noodle soups in spicy broth here. They bring small bowls if you want to share this type of dish. Our star orders were cured meat (thinly sliced cured pork belly) with garlic shoots and stir fried pork with porcini mushrooms. For veg we had tiger skin peppers and sauteed cabbage with vinegar. All great.
Our server helped us with the unfamiliar menu. Food arrived very quickly. You can watch the cooks through the glass partition at the back of the restaurant.
The room is bright and canteen-like. Acoustics are not great but there were no rowdy tables during our visit. Reasonably priced and generous portions. Our copious dinner with tea and plain rice came to 80 quid.
We have since ordered Deliveroo from Cloud Land after my first visit. Minced beef with chilli coriander is a dish I would recommend. For takeaway, the meals for one (rice and a small portion of a main) are...
Read moreI am very surprised to see the low rating of this restaurant! I called to book a table two weeks ago and was told they were still soft launching. The table I booked happened to be on the first day when they opened and we ran into a large group table next to us. The service was slow but they had only one waitress working on the floor and due to the pre-warning at booking we felt it acceptable. The waitress was very nice and apologetic as some of the dishes were not available yet. For all the dishes we ordered they tasted very good and one of our friends at the table was from Yunan and she said everything was very authentic.
I would definitely come back for the food and the friendly services. I think for a restaurant opening less than a month and still yet to be fully running some of the comments here are a bit harsh. This is not a fine dining restaurant and the food and services are far better than those in China Town...
