We booked a client here on her behalf who is a well respected African model, along with her friends after hearing good things about Cococure in Aldgate. Unfortunately the feedback from the "Afro Drunch" event she has given me is beyond dissappointing and I have to relay the comments to review at my dismay: Its safe to say I will be removing this venue from my bookings list for any high networth or established clients in the future. Book here at your own discretion.
Cons: -The door staff seemed to be clueless and left them to wait in silence outside and served people that cut-in front of them -A mixed race not-so gentlemen with a pony tail, who was one of the ''security '' boys proceeded to aggressively say they had an 'attitude', when they politely informed them about their covid-19 app. I dont need to go further in to this, but we already have an issue within society that attribute negative tropes toward our Black women carelessly. Please nip this in the bud and reprimand the not-so gentleman, you are a 'black' club so do better. -Upon arrival, I am informed they were unable to choose seats or tables and were seated in the worst spot against the wall, directly beneath a large hanging speaker above them, and by the side of the DJs booth. My client informed them of this safety problem, especially due to her health condition but was refused -Throughout their night the sound system became faulty, music became progressively louder and disruptive with screeching and echoing, which again was unpleasant as they were sat next to the DJ and were unable to communicate -The staff left drinks when they were not at their table, which is unsafe as it could have been spiked and had not even taken their order for what drinks they needed -After another hour of trying to get a staff members attention, they placed a drink order which was £22 for 2 non-alcholic drinks, they then had to remind the staff about their order twice as it took another hour for it to arrive and had to eat their entire meal with no drink on the table -After waiting for an hour, despite being one of the first to arrive their food order was finally taken. Then after 2 hours of waiting after the order and becoming faint, the food had finally arrived -Lastly the place was loud, fully packed and not Covid secure, at one point the Police even arrived to issue a warning, but no changes were made
The one and only pro they mentioned was that the food was tasty and decor was lovely and clean, which is the bare minimum I expect from any establishment I book my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArrived for the bottomless wings and bottomless prosecco deal (our group had bought tickets online). We were largely ignored for over 1 hr 15 mins: from 8.30pm when we arrived to 9.45pm when the food and drinks were delivered.
The waitresses were really rude and dismissive all through, and I made it known at the end that I was going to leave this review because their behavior was appalling. The club experience at Cococure might be real nice, but the dine-in experience is awful and I would not recommend.
When our 'bottomless' meal did arrive, it was a measly set-up of a plate of 4 chicken wings to be shared between two people. Not enough at all, and when we asked for seconds they said the kitchen was closed as it was 10pm. Remember we arrived at 8.30pm. Imagine waiting for 1 hr 30 mins only to be given 4 pieces of chicken wings (for 2 people) and nothing more.
To add salt to injury, the spicy chicken was hot on the outside but cold on the inside - and the bbq one had a funky taste as if it was spoilt. So 1hr30 mins of waiting and the tiny food they served was not even fresh. It was defrosted then poorly heated. Furthermore, they brought the prosecco in plastic cups, some of which had lip stains on them. When we asked them to be changed, they said it was just water stains. Even though you could clearly see the red lipstick marks etc. And they didn't even top up our drinks when requested.
So we arrived at 8.30pm, endured dismissive and rude waiting service for over an hour, got given insignificant food and drinks at 9.45pm and told we had to exit the premises in 15 mins (10pm) so they could get the place ready for the nightclub entrees.
They didn't provide any napkins for the chicken served as well. As if we were expected to eat the chicken wings with our hands then wipe it off on our clothes. And when someone on our table asked nicely for napkins, the girl serving us sighed and told him to stand up and go and get it himself from the bar on the other end of the room. And he did.
This was supposed to be my birthday eve get-together and I felt ashamed for bringing my guests there.
Looking back, it felt like we were treated like beggars. If you don't want to serve the people who buy your bottomless offer like human beings, it's best you don't have the offer at all. Shame on you, Cococure. I don't recommend this place at all for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Coco Cure with high hopes of enjoying a delightful dining experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were utterly shattered, and I cannot emphasize enough how disappointed I am with the service and overall experience at this establishment.
The most egregious issue that plagued our visit was the unbearably long wait time for our food to arrive. Three hours! Yes, you read that right ā three excruciating hours of waiting for a meal that should have been served in a timely manner. My patience was stretched to its limits, and by the time our food finally appeared, any appetite I had was extinguished.
As if the absurd wait time wasn't bad enough, the staff's lack of communication and indifference to our predicament was astonishing. We were given no explanation for the delay, no apologies, and certainly no effort to make amends for the inconvenience. It felt as though they couldn't care less about their customers' satisfaction or well-being.
When our food did eventually arrive, the disappointment only deepened. The quality of the dishes was subpar at best. The presentation lacked any semblance of care or attention, and the flavors were lackluster, leaving much to be desired. It was evident that little effort had been put into preparing the dishes, making me question the skills and passion of the kitchen staff.
To add insult to injury, the prices on the menu were far from reflective of the underwhelming experience we endured. It was as though they were charging a premium for the privilege of suffering through an agonizing evening of hunger and neglect.
Regrettably, I cannot find a single positive aspect to salvage from my visit to Coco Cure. The service was appalling, the wait time an absolute nightmare, and the food was a severe letdown. I implore anyone considering dining at this establishment to steer clear and save themselves from the misery I endured.
In conclusion, my experience at Coco Cure was nothing short of a disaster. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback constructively and makes drastic improvements to prevent others from experiencing the same ordeal. As for me, I shall never return, and I advise anyone with discerning taste and expectations of decent service to explore other...
