Had a group booking for the downstairs dining room on a busy Friday evening. The buffet curry was plentiful and of fantastic quality. The generous cheese board after was also varied and tasty. The cask ales were of great quality. Usually after these functions we move on to other venues but this time we stayed and used the bar area on the ground floor and time flew. Before we knew it it was time to head off to our various railway stations to get home. Staff were very helpful and as I’m not great on stairs to get down to the gent’s, allowed me to use the ladies on the ground floor, guarding the door so any ladies weren't surprised by a big ugly bloke coming out. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. They even provided some boxes so we could box up our leftovers. Two of our group then took these round the Covent Garden and Strand areas to give to the street sleepers.

A great venue and I look forward to returning soon to repeat...

Last night we were looking for a place to eat dinner before going back to our hotel and the first 3 places we went to were packed. We saw this place and there was one seat left. The 3 in our party, myself, my spouse and our daughter had a whole booth! We were so relieved because we were hungry but then the waiter came over and said it was happy hour! Pizzas buy one get one! Some drinks were also BOGO. We had a blast. Our server, Tom, was so amazing and friendly. The music was awesome and the atmosphere inviting. Their truffle chips were delicious and pizza was too. My spouse was looking for a cod fish and chips platter and he was not disappointed. Truly and amazing experience at a place with an...

Had a lovely meal before the theatre and on tastecard too. Food good pub food. Review from over a year ago. However......

Went back Aug 2022 this meal could not have been different! My daughters ordered bacon burgers. One side of the burgers were black and served in a bagel (wasnt told there were no buns) which was rock hard. I ordered sausage and mash which I thought smelt funny. On trying a sausage I realised they were off. They replaced with pie and mash which was almost as bad there was no filling inside. It was supposed to be steak but was chicken and it literally had 3 tiny pieces of meat and a miniscule amount of gravy. It was all air. Sorry hercules but this was an...

Spent a quiet afternoon here waiting for a matinee show nearby. Many tables were reserved but had start times attached so were available beforehand. Reasonable selection of drinks on sale, both bottled and on tap. OK the decor is showing its age, but I don't fixate on the floor that much. Staff were friendly and quite talkative as it was not at all crowded. The ordered pork pie was delivered with the advice that it was better eaten cold. Apparently, locals have taken to asking for them to be heated. Me neither. Cider, gin and pie were good to go, but we stayed for another. Like this place.

We were here for football game, we ordered some small bites. I highly recommend chill squid popcorn, it’s like takoyaki but sweeter, and we love it pretty much. Crispy fried chicken is genuinely good, fried chips as well. Beef brisket croquettes is the thing I never had, I am not a fan of, to be honest. I assume someone would like it much than I do. However, love it with seed mustard sauce, the combination enrich the taste. I’d say it’s a nice pub where me and my friends enjoyed the time here. Really should try squid popcorn.
