⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I first visited Olive & Twist on Thursday 20th June for breakfast with my sister and because breakfast was excellent, I ended up booking a table for lunch on Saturday 22nd June with the rest of my family and went for breakfast again Saturday morning!
The man that was hosting on Thursday morning for breakfast was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. There was a really nice atmosphere and the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious with quality ingredients. Also, I absolutely love a place that sells Coca Cola and especially in a glass bottle! We were left stunned at how beautiful this place is and how perfect the food was. My sister and I both had the Eggs Benedict. During breakfast, we arranged for our parents to travel from Exeter to try this new place on Saturday for lunch.
When I returned on Saturday morning for breakfast with my sister & brother, the level of service was excellent again. We were greeted by a woman with curly hair, she was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast again. I tried the Rarebit Loaded Hash Browns this time which I had never tried anywhere before and it was absolutely delicious.
We thought lunch would be chaotic because it’s a Saturday and it was busier than breakfast but our food arrived at the same time and it arrived quick although we all ordered different dishes. The food was piping hot again and the presentation was incredible. We had a lovely young girl serving us who remembered our entire order off the top of her head. It was also really nice to be recognised by the woman with curly hair from breakfast!
Overall, The excellent service from the staff, food quality and presentation of the dishes have made us want to keep returning to Olive & Twist. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Beautiful place and cannot wait to...
Read moreHad a bottomless brunch here last weekend. I have heard great things so I wanted to give it a try. We were upstairs. It's not as nice decor as downstairs. Felt very stuck in the corner and forgotten about. In the hour and a half we had 4 drinks. The rate of the arrival of drinks became a long wait. The 5th and final drink which we had to chase came over 20 to 25 mins after our slot finished. I noticed the pour on my prosecco was less than a table near that was a hen party also having a bottomless brunch. My party advised the cocktails were very weak. The food was cold when it came out and one persons order was wrong. The extra chips I ordered were the truffle fries, were even colder than the rest of the food and didn't resemble a truffle fry I've ever had, I asked if they were correct as they looked like and tastes like normal fries. The service really lacked any attention. Food was quite bland, looked pretty but didn't really have lots of flavour. For the cost of the brunch ive had better food and more drinks elsewhere. We waited 40 mins for the bill so just had to get up to pay because we wanted to leave so we could carry on our afternoon. The moment the food came out and we made some small complaints that things were wrong we were seen as a problem and thats when service really fell off. Our server seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else and we were friendly until we became forgotten about. Barely saw our server. Didn't feel very welcome from start to finish. It's honestly the worst bottomless brunch...
Read moreThe food and drinks in the place are absolutely lovely, can’t fault them. However, the service was absolutely abysmal. We got to our booking at 5 at 5:09, which we apologised for at the waitress stand. We were informed that our table had been booked out for the evening and not to rush. We hadn’t even sat down and were told by who we believed to be the manager that our party of 10 had been extended by half an hour, but “when would the rest of the party be here as we need to get the chefs to bring out the preorder”. As a result of this, we felt pressured to rush our friends who were driving from St Austell and hadn’t banked on busy traffic. Once we sat down we were again informed that we would need to be off our table by 7:30, and then offered drinks after we said we understood. Throughout our meal, the manager was constantly gesturing to our table, talking to our waitress and overall trying to rush us through our meal, which was meant to be a birthday celebration. Once we had finished, he again came over and asked “any more drinks?” We said no as we still had drinks and he said “okay you’re all done then” and brought us the check. Overall, we felt incredibly rushed and as though we were not wanted in the restaurant. I would absolutely not recommend this place if you...
