My husband and I really loved this store and have enjoyed visiting in the past, but unfortunately our most recent experience wasn’t great. When we brought our son with us, we quickly realized the store isn’t very kid friendly. The owner yelled at my son multiple times, even though I was watching him closely and didn’t think he was doing anything wrong.
It’s unfortunate, because the store carries a mix of collectibles and inexpensive toys (like McDonald’s toys) that naturally attract kids’ attention. Having a clear separation between the collectible items and the kid-friendly toys would make a big difference. Putting the more expensive or fragile items on higher shelves would also benefit the store. I also think having shelves that you’re worried might come down isn’t the safest or smartest setup for the space.
After the third time the owner raised his voice at my son, I told him to put the toys back (we had planned to buy them) and we decided to leave. As we left, the owner even came to the window to watch us leave- walking through the entire store watching us, which felt uncomfortable.
