Had a poor experience with pick-up at this location. If you are planning to order pick-up from this location I would reconsider and order pick-up from a different location or order delivery.
Pick-up initially went as expected, but after the pick-up was complete the Meijer employee walked away with multiple bags of groceries still in their cart, which I thought was odd since no other orders had been fulfilled while they were outside. I was worried that the bags might belong to my order but decided to trust that the employee knew what they were doing.
However, after driving all the way home I realized that I had received a call/voicemail 13 minutes after I had left the store saying that they had forgotten some of my groceries and asking me to âswing back aroundâ and pick them up. Of course I missed this call because I was driving, so I didnât see it until well after I got home.
I ended up calling customer service and requesting a refund on the items that were left out (multiple bags of items, about 30-40% of my order). Customer service was very helpful and was able to issue the refund. However, the store ended up calling me AGAIN nearly 6 hours after I picked up the order, again asking me to come back and pick up the groceries that they left out of my order. By this time I had already placed a grocery delivery order for the missing items, which was frustrating because I do pick-up at Meijer in order to avoid the grocery delivery fee, but I had to pay it anyway even though I took the time to pick up my groceries in-person. But even if I hadnât placed the delivery order for the missing items I of course wasnât going to drive all the way back out to Allen Park from Detroit just to pick up 2-3 bags of missing groceries.
What added to the frustration is that the groceries were literally there all together in the cart and the Meijer employee just neglected to put part of my order in my car for some reason. This experience has made me decide to stop placing pick-up orders with this Meijer location and order delivery instead, considering that by doing pick-up I run the risk of part of my order being missing due to neglect and having to order...

Was far from impressed with the customer service at this location. When I entered the store there were at least 5 employees standing in the greeter area and I was not greeted by any of them when I retrieved a basket from the stack. When I was at the deli counter and looking at the selection none of the 3-4 deli employees nearby bothered to greet me or ask if they could be of assistance. I then went to the section where they have hot and ready items and no one emerged to assist. I then returned back to the deli area and just more of the same. The only person to greet we was the cashier.
I came in to buy a premade salad on my lunch break. The salads were easy to find, the single serve dressings however were not so easy. One would think that the dressings for the premade salads would be next to said salad, no, they were in the case on the other side and I had to waste my time looking for them and nearly gave up, thinking that they didn't sell them for some odd reason and the only reason I continued to look for them was that it made no sense for them to have premade salads without dressings to accompany them.
I also noticed a bit of packaging waste for prepackaged deli items that would have been packaged by the in-store deli. Instead of using an appropriately sized container for the quantity of the item, they are using just one size container. By using only one large size container they are contributing to an increase in the number of bags one would need for checkout as these containers are so big you can only place 2 in a plastic bag, whereas, by using appropriately sized containers for the amount of product I saw in most of these containers one could fit 6-10 properly sized containers in a plastic bag. I thought to buy some of these prepackaged items, but decided against it as I didn't what to contribute to such a wasteful practice.
Hopefully someone from the company will see this and they will enact some changes, only time will tell. Beyond the above, the store seemed to be clean from what little I saw...
Read moreCompletely unprofessional and rude. My husband, my 5 year old, my 3 year old, 19 month old, 8 month old and myself were verbally harassed by two women tonight that are currently employed at the Meijer in Allen park MI off outer dr and Southfield on the hill. When we needed assistance at self check out she was very mean and disrespectful while showing my husband how to use gift cards there. She also wouldnât let us use our WIC card to get one can of formula for our youngest. She then went on to yelling about how our child (who is still in a car seat) didnât have a winter coat on. He had layers of clothes on a sweat shirt and a jacket. We also had a winter coat for him in the car and one of us always pulls the car up to the door for the other parent and the kids so they donât have to walk all the way to a parking spot. This time it was me that pulled the car up. As my husband got our children in the car the same two women followed him out to smoke a cigarette and was yelling at us and harassing us. One of the women was screaming that we were unfit parents and didnât know how to take care of children. I have 4 kids im well aware how to take care of my children. I went on to tell her that itâs actually unsafe for a child to wear a winter coat in their car seat. She continued to yell outside the store that we are unfit and her friend/coworker kept yelling âits a free countryâ when I asked them to stop saying those things in front of our children. The amount of pettiness, disrespect, unprofessionalism, and trashy this entire incident was is beyond ridiculous. Especially for grown women to act this way towards a family with young children while clocked in at their place of employment. I will be going back tomorrow to speak to a supervisor and honestly hope they lose their jobs after treating us that way and acting that way in front of our children. Here is the only picture I could get of...
