Cos Bar Aspen — Local services in Aspen

Two times now my wife has gone to this shop. The first time I wanted to gift her a “beauty day”, the second because she wanted to buy some new makeup. Both times she has now felt unwlecome. The staff made her feel like she was interrupting their conversations with one another. She also has told me that the lady that has now helped her twice didn’t care to listen to the concerns about her complexion and makeup application. She said she tried to explain what works and doesn’t work for her but the employee didn’t even stop to listen. She did appreciate the samples before making any purchases. However, one of the samples has caused a bad reaction- something that could have been avoided if the staff had taken the time to listen. As this is the only real shoppe for makeup purchasing in the area we expected a better experience. I wanted to write and let you know that we are disappointed in how you treat customers- who would like to spend some serious money there! I can only hope that by posting your shoppe can make some changes. Please take the time to listen to your customers and make them feel welcome and relaxed to be there, not rushed or in the way. I had a very poor attempted shopping experience with this Cos Bar location, which was very surprising as any other I’ve shopped with has been absolutely top-notch. When I called, the lady seemed off the bat annoyed at my call and advised that she/her store was unwilling to allow phone orders—despite my having made multiple phone orders with other multiple locations in the past. After informing her of this, she backtracked a little and hesitantly said in a rather unpleasant tone that they may would if I sent a picture of the credit card and license—as if I was trying to scam them. I’m a customer who’s spent over $2,000 with the company in the last couple years. The other negative reviews for this location confirm that this likely wasn’t an entirely unusual experience. I highly recommend Cos Bar as a company and for their other locations, but I’d rather shop anywhere else than with this specific store who refuses the opportunity to take my money. I have never given a review before but wish I could give cos bad aspen negative stars… I went in looking for a brand that the vail location religiously carries & when I asked the worker if they carried it he demeaningly told me to get my “little agenda out of my head” and that I would never find that brand in anywhere in Aspen. I am astonished considering he was a grown man & I am a teenage girl in a makeup store politely inquiring about products… I will never be going into cos bar ever again and if you’d like a peaceful shopping experience I recommend u steer CLEAR.
