Georgia State — Local services in Atlanta

Well we definitely saved a lot of money using the train to get to the airport. An uber ride from the airport to downtown Atlanta cost us around $30 when we arrived.

We were looking or cabs when someone suggested we take the train. Now, I will warn you, it smells BAD! if you take the elevator down it WILL reek of urine and they have signs telling you NOT to urinate in the elevators.

The train station is located below the bus station, which made it difficult for us to find. We asked a nice gentleman and he helped us. He was obviously homeless but was very kind and walked with us to the station.

When purchasing your ticket, buy them separately, we made the mistake of buying all three tickets at once and ended up buying two more. It's one...

Trains are usually on schedule. There's almost always a Marta cop somewhere in the station. There's also almost always a broken Marta card scanner (I'm not sure they have an official name), and the beeping is incessant and audible throughout the station. It's dreadful and headache inducing, and they really need to work on fixing those, or at the very least quieting them down... what good does the beeping really do if...

Elevated station on MARTA eastbound-westbound line. Closest station for some buildings on GSU campus, just behind Petit Science Center. Better than walking from Five Points to that area of campus, especially on a rainy day. Also close to several...
