UPDATE 2: After significant time waiting to have things "made right" as the owner claimed, there has been ZERO response back from the owner. This company simply does not care and is overburnded and staffed with people like Kerry and Robert incapable of doing thier jobs in my opinion (having worked in business management myself for over 20 years). I've never been treated so poorly by a company such as this, and have shared this same warning with many throuought the collecting community to avoid purchasing anything from these folks...if you're reading this, I'd suggest you take your business elsewhere also. Terrible business run by people who shouldn't even be managing a fast food burger joint. My opinion/advice - find a better quality company to meet your needs, because you won't find it with these people!
UPDATE: Robert, the owner, saw my message and reached out quickly with a boilerplate aplology and asked what could be done to make things right. I told him our thoughts (which was no more than dozens of other estate sale companies have done for us over the years - forwarding our info to the property owners of the remaining stock, letting them know additional customers have interest in whats left), and he said he'd get back to me. Here we are several days later...no contact, no keeping his word to try and assist....nothing. More lack of consideration, this time from the owner himself and not a worker drone. Just boilerplate "we had a lot of interest and couldnt keep up" type email and empty apology. Again, I've done business with many reputable estate companies over decades and have never seen the inability to even communicate at a basic level like I did with Kerry, and now Robert. Had I been told at ANY point they were not willing to assist me, I'd have been ok with it. This was never the case and over a 2 week or so span, half of my emails went fully ignored by Kerry. Robert only cared I left a bad and truthful review it seems (after letting them know my shopping budget also). Speaks volumes about how they do business in my opinion...outright lies and empty promises to me, so I'm sure others have had similar issues - in my 20+ years experience, incidents like this are NEVER isolated. Avoid doing business with people like this or their companies if you'd like to be treated as more than garbage. If they can't handle basic customer service - the basis of any sales company - how can they do the bigger things they need done in a quality or ethical way? Just questions to ask yourself before making - or attempting to - make a purchase.
ORIGINAL: Kerry was horrid to attempt to deal with. I say attempt, because customer service was VERY lacking. MULTIPLE unanswered emails. I'd be told one thing by Kerry and upon calling several other employees- some claiming to be management - would tell me something different and that what I was told was an outright lie.
I tried on numerous occasions to try and get assistance, but Kerry prevented that. I've worked in executive management and marketing for years - if I'd have ever treated a potential customer the way I was treated by Kerry, I'd be fired instantly.
If you can't keep up with the workload, hire help or find new workers capable of taking care...
Read moreThey used to have the elite estate sales in Buckhead and the surrounding areas but that is not the case anymore. The last one was a hoarder house, which was disgusting. Plus, the workers at the sales are not as friendly as they used to be and they are unwilling to negotiate (again, they used to be reasonable). A really professional gentleman with horn-rimmed glasses used to be in charge and things were well run. He seems to have moved on and now, a dark-haired woman runs the show and always seems to have a "burr under her saddle". Honestly, at the last few sales, she has acted like they are selling new items from Tiffany's and she wants you to pay sticker price. She is rude and unprofessional. My Wife and I have gone to our last Peachtree Battle estate sale. If you are thinking about using them for an estate sale, go with another firm that is focused on friendly and professional customer service. If you want to buy at a good estate sale, go to another firm's sale that will appreciate you as a customer. Also, beware of the recent favorable reviewers - they do not appear to be real as most have only posted one review. They are likely reviews by insiders that are trying to dilute my accurate and unfavorable review by putting "lipstick on this pig".
Update - I read the Owner's Response and what a bunch of bunk. To find out that the dark-haired woman is the co-owner is unbelievable as she has a nasty disposition (based on multiple encounters) and no sense of customer service whatsoever. Most of the information in the owner's response is fiction. For example, there were not "12 people in line behind me" when I asked for a discount. I am sure you wish there were that many people in line but there were not. Also, I understand that you potentially have contractual pricing constraints but it was Sunday, the last day of the sale, so this is another made up statement. Overall, I am not surprised at the response being a bunch of fiction as it signifies the problem that this firm has issues. The response is another attempt to "put lipstick on this pig". I will not be back to any of your sales ever and I urge others to use a more customer friendly estate...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience with Peachtree Battle Estate Sales . Our sale was last weekend , a three day , Thursday , Friday , Saturday sale and it was packed with buyers all three days . On the third day there were cars parked up and down both sides of our Buckhead corner lot . What I learned from this experience is how hard Christy , Robert, and their whole team work to put on the best estate sale possible . Workers were at our house the Thursday before , all day , unearthing things and arranging them to price later . Christy and Terry and Andrew and Melissa were all so careful with my things , asking about age , provenance . They then worked all week long and very long hours to carefully organize , research and display . They will put some very valuable things in their future auction to get the things wider exposure . Keith in particular had very impressive knowledge of many areas of antiques . The sensitivity of Christy and Robert to my need to get top dollar was balanced with their deep understanding of their clients' desire to get the best deal . They were firm in their scheduled discount plan which assured me there would be no discounts on day one , 25% off on day two and most things would be 50% off the last day . I felt secure in every transaction because I had seen every price before the doors opened and knew Christy would be the cashier , Robert was on sight . The whole crew had worked as a team to give a seamless estate sale . Cleanup and donation of things happened the following Tuesday and here I am thanking them on Wednesday !
My late mother did estate sales in Birmingham for 35 years so I had very high expectations for any company I picked . I chose this company because I have been to many sales and in my opinion Peachtree Battle is the very best . Sincerely...
