The place just didn't seem to work for me. Initially you gather in a kind of rountunda where there are numerous artifacts up high on shelves and the guide points out a few but you can't see them up close and you're not certain which one he's pointing to because there are so many crowded together. Then go to a room and watch a movie that I assumed would be about the history of coke, but no. It's a movie about people having fun and has nothing to do with coke. I think the idea is to get people in a good mood so they can carry that feeling along because they'll need it.
You go to a place where you can choose ingredients to custom make your own drink which will be ready later as you leave and you're given a code so you can find your drink. We never found the area that had our drinks. I thought we were in the place but that wasn't it and I asked an employee 'where do we go to get our sample of the custom drink we made in the computer' and she had no idea what I was talking about. I showed her a picture of the code and she said "oh" and pointed to an area but that wasn't it. We never found it. Failure.
There was a small video on a wall that was telling the history of the start of coke and the sound came from an overhead speaker which was on a high ceiling. You couldn't hear it because of the crowd noise and they did not close caption the words on the screen. So that was useless. Failure.
I was interested in the 'I like to buy the world a drink' commercial and how and where the commercial was made. There was a wall video what was close captioned but the words went so fast on the screen you got only the first line. I watched it again to try and catch the 2nd sentence but it was too fast for even that. Failure again.
There was a myths and legends area but wasn't really clear which of the list were myths and which were true. It just kept saying 'what do you think?'. I'll tell you what I think, I think this museum is bad.
There was an area that was so busy with video screens and they were so fast and the images came on as intentionally blurry and came into focus only at the last second and left the screen so fast. I got a headache but was thankful I don't suffer from autism because that would be a challenge for some.
There was one wall that had the slogans on a wall and the year the slogans came out. I did enjoy that. That was my only positive experience in the entire place.
It was just one failure after another. I do not recommend this place. We should have gone to...
Read moreI took my service dog here today. I paid $20 for parking, around $50 for tickets, & stayed in Atlanta on a road trip just to visit. We went into the short movie beforehand, & some lady with a dog in a stroller let her dog bark randomly as the movie started. Then, the announcer came over and said that if our dog barked again, we would be kicked out.
We tried to explain that it wasn’t our dog that barked, but he yelled at my mother, saying he wasn’t speaking to her—he was speaking to me because I was holding the dog. He kept repeating over & over that if our dog barked again, he would call security & have us removed. Every time we tried to explain, he interrupted us & just repeated the same thing.
At one point, he even prodded my mother in the shoulder while yelling in her face, which caused her to cry & have a panic attack in the middle of the theater. Everyone nearby was staring. Meanwhile, our dog was sitting calmly the entire time, behaving exactly as a service dog should. The woman with the dog in the stroller, whose dog actually barked, was never reprimanded.
Another employee even tried to tell him to stop, as he had already repeated his threat to kick us out seven or eight times, but he wouldn’t stop. He was so nasty & completely out of line. He should never have laid a hand on my mother.
We didn’t get his name, but whoever was announcing at the pre-show movie thingy this afternoon should be fired immediately. It is unacceptable to yell at or touch a woman like that for any reason.
Eventually, the manager came, apologized, offered us a refund, and escorted us out of the building while my mother was still having a panic attack. So now, we didn’t get to see anything, we’re miserable, and we’re out $20 for parking. While my mom needed to leave because she didn’t feel safe, the manner in which we were escorted out made us feel as though we were being removed to avoid causing a scene or as if we had done something wrong.
I will never come back here. I highly recommend avoiding this place—the staff needs serious training! We’ve taken our service dog to Biltmore Estate, Disney World, theaters, & many other places and have never had an issue. This experience was such a huge...
Read moreOn a recent trip to Atlanta, visiting the World of Coca-Cola was an amazing experience as a life-long fan of the iconic beverage brand. The entire attraction exceeded my expectations and offered an entertaining behind-the-scenes look at Coca-Cola's history and operations.
From the moment you walk in, the buzzing energy and variety of interactive exhibits draws you in. My favorite stop was tasting Coca-Cola beverages from all around the world in their tasting room. It was fascinating to compare the unique flavors. The 4D movie experience took me inside different Coke commercials and had the whole audience laughing and cheering.
I really appreciated how many photo opportunities there were included throughout the exhibits. My family had a blast posing by the giant Coke polar bear and playing on the sensory tables. The impressive collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia was like a trip through time capsules over the decades.
By the end, I felt like I learned so much about the brand’s legacy and got to experience their products in a whole new way. The staff members were all so friendly and eager to engage. I also loved taking home a complimentary bottle of Coca-Cola with my name on it.
Overall, the World of Coca-Cola is an absolute must-see attraction if you're visiting Atlanta. I was thoroughly entertained the entire time and came away with more respect for the company and enthusiasm for the brand. I highly recommend allowing 2-3 hours to fully experience everything they have to offer inside. This was a...
