I was here for dinner two weekends ago with a friend and I would not describe my experience here as very good. First, when we tried asking the host about how long it would take us to get a seat, he appeared a bit brusque and asked us to wait behind a group of six or seven folks who were also standing in the general area. It was unclear to us whether he had already spoken to the group or not and therefore we wanted to check with him but he shooed us off and came off as brusque in his conduct.

Second, in terms of the quality of the food, while quite acceptable, it did not blow me away. I ordered the shrimp and grits and I have certainly had better before. My most recent experience of getting shrimp and grits was at Williamsburg, VA at a restaurant called Food for Thought and that’s one of the best restaurants I have come across in my life, so admittedly my standards for this dish were a bit high to begin with. But even if they weren't that high, I know I have had better shrimp and grits before. Apart from the fact that there wasn’t much depth in the flavors, there was also too much gravy for my tastes. My friend got a pear and walnut salad and while he did finish it, he did not appear too impressed with it either.

Third, and perhaps what irked me the most, was the fact that our waters weren’t refilled as often as we would like. Towards the end of our meal, I got up and requested our waiter twice or thrice (!!!) to get us water but she was so engrossed in closing out the books that it took her a good 10-15 minutes before I could get a glass of water. (For context, this was around 9:30 and the restaurant closes at 10.) Finally, and this is a minor point, the floor around us seemed a little dirty in that there were more crumbs on the floor than we would expect at a place with airs about it such as Sway. If there was one saving grace, it was the fact that the dessert which I had – a slice of pecan pie – was “on the house”. All in all though, given that the food did not impress and the service was considerably worse than average, I would pass on this restaurant if I were...

We had a reservation, so we did not wait long to be seated. However, the hostess informed us they were short-staffed. Restaurant did not seem very clean and there were people with dog’s just walking through. Our table was not cleaned or set properly. The servers uniforms did not look very clean either. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our drink order to be taken and since the wait was long we placed our dinner order. Then my actual drink, sweet tea took about 20 more minutes. After receiving my drink finally, the young lady fixing drinks for everyone spilled 2 orders of chocolate milk all over my wife and our coats. She apologized profusely however, this does not make up for the drinks being spilled all over my wife and ruining her dress and our coats.

No one came and said anything to us not even our server. I asked her for a manager and no one came. I finally had to go and find a manager and explain the situation. He offered dry cleaning but we were not staying in the hotel. We had been waiting over and hour by this time and still our food had not arrived. He stated he could take off the cost of dry cleaning off of our meal and I said no, that was unacceptable and he comped the meal. We decided not to stay and eat because we were over it and my wife was uncomfortable and now starting to smell like spoiled milk. It still took us another 20 minutes to receive our food to go. Once we were back at our room at the Marriott (next door) the food was not even warm or very good. The whole experience was terrible and we should have been comped a couple of nights stay along with the free meal by Walter who was the operations manager. We will never dine...

Wow what a bad breakfast. I came in not long after opening because I like a quiet breakfast. I was led to essentially the furthest table from the buffet that also happened to be the only dirty table. I sat down asked for coffee flipping my coffee and water cup over. Coffee was filled and then server disappeared. Clearly about 80% of people or more drink coffee with cream but server is too busy on her phone and also never brings water. I end up going to the server stand and getting my own cream vessel and fill my glass up with water. Now ive taken 2 sips from my coffee and the server asks if I want a refill. I wave her off and go get food. Despite having several items that would have required butter to make there is no butter I could see to go with the French toast. I asked a worker and was told there wasn't any butter. Next thing I see is a bowl of honey butter near the pastries. Went to get a serving utensil for the honey butter since staff was too busy chit chatting to notice half the things didnt have serving utensils and go sit down. The server has already placed my bill of the table and asks again if I want more coffee. I look at my completely full cup and say no. Less than 2 minutes later she does it again. I end up just being frustrated with it and not being able to enjoy my meal I pay the bill with 0 tip and walk out not having eaten my breakfast. Also despite the same dragoncon convention running today that there was yesterday, today's dragoncon breakfast, was $5 more. Wish there was some kind of...

We used to stay at this hotel and always got the breakfast buffet here, but we were too late this morning, so we went for lunch. I know this place is overpriced because they are in a hotel, but come on: $4 for an iced tea? My shrimp and grits were $26 and did not pass this Southern chef's muster. You can tell they cooked the grits in plain water. If they switched to half broth, half milk the taste would be dramatically improved. The 5 shrimp were well-cooked and flavorful, and the little sautéed peppers and onions and bacon added some much-needed character to the bland grits. Service was friendly and this seems to be a family-run operation, which is nice to see. The sweet tea was still warm when presented, which tells me it was fresh and also that they were unprepared for the flood of thirsty Southerners on this hot day. Hubby's $16 turkey sandwich was well-stacked and packed with flavor. Smoky bacon, tender turkey, fresh crisp lettuce and sliced tomato, with a tangy aioli and a nice slab of pepper Jack. My advice? If you want breakfast here, get up earlier and get the buffet, because the shrimp and grits is the closest you're gonna get after 11am.

Service was seriously slow. When I got my food 3 days later, I was ready to go so I ask for a to go box. It took 35 minutes for me to get my to go box. By this time my food is extremely cold. The server said he can reheat it under the warmer. He did, it was still cold . He forgot the gravy. … so now I am waiting another decade for gravy and my food get cold again. I spoke with the manager with glasses. She didn’t seem to really want to help… she offered me hot gravy to fix the problem. I stated to her my food has been sitting for an hour and is cold .. hot gravy is not the solution 🤦🏽‍♀️ at the end- I left hungry and wasted 2 hours of my life. I didn’t have to pay but it was a bad experience. My first and last time. To be Fair my waiter did have 12 tables he was running all by himself. But I was the second table to be sat before others came in 15 minutes later
