If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with both the Grant Park Pool and the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation has been consistently disappointing and deeply frustrating. The staff at both locations have demonstrated a lack of professionalism, courtesy, and accountability.
Each time we visit the pool, it is inexplicably closed, often with vague or contradictory explanations. On one occasion, we were told that the phones were not operational and therefore the pool could not open due to safety protocols—yet lifeguards were visibly swimming and socializing in the pool. On another occasion, the excuse shifted to a lack of available lifeguards. The inconsistency and lack of transparency are unacceptable.
Attempts to contact the Parks and Recreation Department for clarification or resolution have been equally unproductive. Staff have been dismissive, unhelpful, and in some cases have abruptly ended calls mid-conversation. This behavior reflects a troubling lack of leadership and oversight within the department.
The repeated lack of professionalism, combined with poor communication and disregard for public accountability, is unacceptable for a public service funded by taxpayers. I strongly urge city officials to investigate these ongoing issues and implement meaningful...
Read moreI’ve been attempting to speak to someone at Parks & Recreation, Doug Voss’s office and Capital Projects for over 3 years now and have been completely unsuccessful. I’m not even sure who I’m supposed to speak to at this point. I do see online that Justin Cutler is the Commissioner, but these people are city employees and their salaries are paid with taxpayer dollars and they treat the public as a nuisance. No one seems to know what they’re doing or even cares to do their job. Most of the phone numbers don’t work and the employees would rather run you around in circles and try to pacify you hoping you’ll give up and simply go away, instead of following up and working to solve the problem. A special mention goes out to Lydia, who is especially rude, arrogant and...
