No wheelchair accessibility. The manager was so extremely sorry for the fact that he could not get me into the store. I have an electronic scooter as my means of mobility and there was no way I could get up the two steep steps and all. Ross (managers name I think) was very kind and spent lots of time bringing me items to look over. Luckily it was a cool and non rainy day during my visit. While I was there the owner of the building and the company showed up. I explained to him why he and others going into the shop had to walk around my chair was due to the fact that there was no way I could enter. I also mentioned how helpful the manager was in accommodating me. The owners response was.... Yes, he does whatever it takes. My thought was that if you just fixed this problem your manager wouldn't have to go outside with folks like me and leave the rest of shop inside unattended. If I didn't need new gloves I would have left this place without buying a thing because the owner doesn't want business from mobility...
Read moreWould give this ZERO stars if I could....not for the clothes but for the shop and its PRICE GOUGING activities. Today I stopped in this store before leaving for Portland. Found a lovely sweater. Bought it and some yarn after the salesmen promised this was the best price. Arrived in Portland and while walking around saw the same store. Popped in there because there was a scarf I wished I had bought. Shocked to discover that my sweater and yarn were 30-40% less than I had paid in Bar Harbor. None of these items were clearance or “on sale”. When I queried why the difference in price....no answer and NO exchanges accepted. Appears to be accepted that the company allows PRICE GOUGING in order to sell their wares. Dishonest and very disappointing. Beautiful sweaters but won’t ever shop at this...
Read moreI bought an Alpaca jacket at Peruvian Link 20 years ago. I had never owned an alpaca garment before. I quickly discovered that my new alpaca jacket was truly magnificent - supremely comfortable, handsome and elegant yet durable and versatile. It keeps me comfortable whether it is 20 below zero or 60 above zero - an astonishing range !! It seems to resist soiling somehow. This has been my primary jacket for 20 years, yet I don’t think I have ever needed to have it cleaned. I imagine it has something to do with the alpaca fibers. I am so delighted with the Peruvian Link products that I return regularly to add to my collection. Despite very frequent use, every item is still as nice as the day I bought it. I love...
