As a frequent Texas tourist in Michigan, I've heard how Bay City is turning into a ghost town. On my way to Alpena, MI I decided to exit I-75 and explore Bay City. I didn't realize when I was crossing the Vermont Street bridge, I would receive a toll bill for $5.50 in the mail, at my condo in Alpena. Apparently you must charge by the foot, because the Mackinaw bridge is 5 miles long and it's only $4.00, with a great view. Now I understand why your city is becoming a ghost town. Just had a lovely get away with a girlfriend to this surprising city. I did not have any expectations when we picked this city randomly. Every shopkeeper went above and beyond.From our first stop at Omoni,Uptown Girl,Little House and I wish I could remember all the other shops, the 2 restaurants we went to MiTable and Real Seafood ( a shout out to Jennifer) to the thrift store that supports our Vets.
