Urban Bird Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Baytown

Okay so I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place. I ate at Urban Bird on highway 6 at least once a week when I stayed in the area. I was sooo excited when they opened this location. I’ve been about 7 times since they’ve opened this location. Every single time has been nothing less than golden. Well tonight was different. I was told it would take 10 mins for my food but it took 30 mins. I didn’t complain though. I thought that meant my food was about to be fresh fresh. I get my food and start heading home. Of course I dig in and take a dry and piece of chicken while at a red light and boy was I disappointed. I waited 30 minutes for Luke warm refried French fries. The chicken was hella salty. It tastes like they put extra seasoning salt on top of the chicken after they sauces them. The consistency of the chicken was as if it was sitting and then they threw it back in the fryer, sauced it, cut it, then seasoned it. I tip every single time I get food here, just like I did tonight. I wish I didn’t. The food tonight was not even worth the full price smh very disappointed. When I go back next time, ima check to make sure the same kitchen staff is not there because the normal group of kitchen staff would have NEVER allowed food to be given away...

Update March 3rd: Hate leaving poor reviews 😢 went back hoping things was better, it was empty and was about to turn around because I knew my food would be stale and drenched with sauce to cover up that fact. See latest pic.... I tried to eat what I can. Big let down. How hard is it to drop fresh fries for a normal customer 😕 for any customer as a matter of fact.

The 3 stars are for the times I visited and received stale fries and chicken consecutively. If your order is ready within 5 minutes, it is likely that you have received old food. To make matters worse, they drench it in their signature sauce to conceal the fact that the fries are old and have been re-dipped. Despite this, it has become my comfort food, although I have reduced my visits due to these experiences. When the manager or owner is present, the food is of excellent quality. Some customers complain about the occasional 30-minute wait, but I prefer to wait for fresh food rather than receive it quickly but clearly stale. I came to this location 3 times last week, so on Thursday

I finally decided to bring a friend with me because I kept raving to them about the food here. We got there a few minutes after 9. There was someone in front of us so we waited. It was busy and stood in front of the register for a few minutes. I didnt mind because I saw that they were preparing food to be served. After a few minutes a family walked in and stood by the other register while we were standing there. The associate we saw us way before the other family came, completely ignored us and went to the family. The woman told her a few times that we were there first and I said it myself and she completely ignored me. I was hurt and disappointed. I don’t want to bring color into this but it was obvious.
