Ethan Allen — Local services in Birmingham

This review is for the Ethan Allen store in Birmingham, Michigan and reflects my experience with Laurie Mahnick, Design Consultant and the store manager, Pam. To start, I have been a loyal Ethan Allen customer for over 20 years and have purchased furnishings and decor for three homes in three different states. Up until my recent and first purchase experience at the Birmingham store, I would have gladly recommended Ethan Allen. Unfortunately, I cannot say that any longer and Ethan Allen has lost me as a loyal customer. Due to their lack of customer care and professionalism, I would urge anyone to find another retailer.

The one star given in the above rating is for the service center who does their best to pick up the pieces for the atrocious customer care and professionalism of their sales consultant and store manager.

I just reviewed your response and unfortunately, you’ve missed the point, again! My issue wasn’t that you made an error, even though you are in the custom ordering business! My issue is your lack of customer service and professionalism! I have NEVER received a call from Laurie since my furniture was delivered, incorrectly. NEVER - nothing! I have worked with Ena at the Birmingham store for almost 10 years. In this time, she has helped my family and I design and decorate 5-6 homes in their entirety. Her brillance and ability to see and understand little details that make the biggest difference is amazing and the reason we use her for EVERY project. She is patient, always helping you to curate your vision in a refined way and makes herself available for quick questions or opinions any time you need her.

As for Ethan Allen in general, every home my family has, including my own, is filled with Ethan Allen furniture. It’s durable, beautiful, sophisticated, elegant, AND its American made!!! Ena Stewart at the Birmingham, MI Ethan Allen location is a delight to work with. She provides valuable insight into both the form and function of a space while also hearing and incorporating the details we shared are most important to us. We went to Ethan Allen with high expectations and Ena exceeded them at every turn. What started as a slightly stressful topic-properly furnishing our home ended with us being absolutely joyful at the outcome.
